Spray tan for BD shoot?

DRB

Recommended Posts

Did anyone get a spray tan before their BD photoshoot? Mine is on Tuesday and I'm debating whether I should get one or not since I'm so pasty!

I've never gotten a spray tan before but was thinking of going on Saturday. Do you think it's a good idea? I know that tanning is slimming but I don't want to look blotchy or orange in my pics!

I think it depends on what kind you get - I got the one where you just stand in the machine, and it worked pretty good I only had a few spots where it was not perfect - it might be more obvious when you are naked/half naked though!

I haven't tried the one where a person sprays you - I think that one would definitely work perfectly.

Good Luck this is a great idea - I might do it myself for my BD

I have heard that spray tanning doesn't come over well in photos. I even asked my BD photog this same question, and she said not to do it. I was thinking of doing it for my wedding day, but I don't want to risk it, though I am pretty pale. Plus, no matter what they say, it does rub off on stuff!

I have had both the machine one and the one where the person sprays you by hand. I highly recommend doing the one where the person sprays you. They mix the color themselves so as to match you better, rather having the one-color-for-all with the machine (I think this is where you get orange). They also apply it better since they are able to get the "nooks and crannies" that would be missed with the machine, including the fact that they can apply it more evenly than the machine would. It's really not that expensive either. The place I go to charges $30 and they do a fantastic job!

I don't know if I would recommend it before your pics since this would be your first time. You may hate it and then have to look like that in your bd pictures!

Plus if it rubs off or something......eh, you see where I'm going with this.

Have fun at your shoot, what a great experience!

I did it before my shoot with the machine that sprays you. It wasn't bad it smelled and I couldn't wait to shower but it actually turned out pretty good. Here is a pic from mine I don't think you can tell I have a spray tan. I don't know if I would do it again only cause I prefer normal tanning I was just short on time and it worked!

Iscilley your tan does look very natural in the pic (great pic BTW!). I tend not to tan much though so I don't know how natural I would look.

I'm going to think about it more over the next day or so, I've had some bad experiences with self tanner in the past but I know that things are a lot more advanced now (and would most likely work better if I wasn't applying it myself). Thanks for all of your comments though, I'll let you know what I decide (and post pics if I do go the spray tan route!).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
