Pictures before the Ceremony????

Recommended Posts

Here are a few of our pics of when we first saw each other (before the ceremony). It was exactly what we were hoping for and these are pics we never could have had captured had we not seen each other for this moment before the ceremony. There are more pics than this, but these are those first few moments.

Dera Mrs. Sears :)

The "first-look" option before the wedding is nice, but if you would rather wait until after, a good photographer should be able to photograph your families and then some fabulous , romantic beach shots of the two of you and still have some time for your cocktail hour. You certainly don't want to be "posed" but they should have a plan that helps you get the shots that you will treaure for a lifetime nad still have time to laugh and hang -out with your guests! Good luck and happy planning.

Personally, I will be taking all of the photos with FI after the ceremony. We plan to take all of the photos with the bridal party before the ceremony (without eachother) and the taking a bit of time after the ceremony to take pictures with all of the guests as well as with our family. After that, we will head to dinner to celebrate! I also feel like I will be glowing after the ceremony and you can't argue with how good a natural glow looks in photos :) Good luck with your choice!

I chose to do photos before and I'm really happy I did, just wish I would've started them earlier. Really plan out the time in advance in terms of who you want there and at what time. I didn't start my photos until 2:30 because I wanted to do pics in my room with my girls and family and didn't want them to be tied up too much during that day. I did pictures slightly before the 4pm ceremony with my hubby which helped calm any nerves I had. However with only so much light left after the ceremony I felt we were rushing through all the group and beach shots.

When you get to the resort you might see a spot you'd like to have pics taken at but logistically it could be a challenge to get everywhere on the day of. If you don't want pictures before the ceremony I'd recommend doing a next day or TTD shoot. I wish I would've done that, I wouldn't have rolled around in the sand in my dress but just would've taken some time to take more pics with my hubby and I. Plus you're more relaxed the day after and more inclined to be yourselves since you don't have to worry about any other details.

We are actually doing our "professional" photos off the resort the day before the wedding. We are doing this because we don't want to be too hot during the day of our wedding for photos & we also want to make sure we don't have our guests waiting a long time for our pictures. I went round & round with this but I think I'm sticking with this plan.

I always thought I would want the first time I saw FI on our wedding day to be as I was walking down the aisle, but I think I've changed my mind. I totally love the idea of having a private "first-time-you-see-each-other" moment. I'm pretty sure this is what I want to do (although I'll have to talk about it with FI - he and I have had a surprising number of differing opinions when it comes to this wedding stuff!).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
