Ok, I realize this is waaay late in the time frame on this thread but I just joined and would absolutely love if any of you ladies could give me feedback on how things went for your weddings and what you all did - any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated. My fiance isn't Indian so we're still trying to figure out if we want to go with an traditional Indian theme or make it our own with a fusion concept. The only thing we've decided on so far is the resort - Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa. We've just started the planning process so all ideas would be helpful. Thanks ladies.

Hi everyone!

My fiance and I were looking into a destination wedding for us, our family and close friends.  We haven't really set a date, and we have a few leads as far as places in Mexico where people we know have gotten married. We are thinking sometime in July this year (7/7/12 or 7/14/12).

We estimate anywhere from 75-125 people (depending on who will actually be able to fly to Mexico for a wedding).

We do desire a traditional Hindu ceremony in a mandap on the beach.

If you know of places with price breakdowns, I'd love to hear about them!

If possible, we would like to have an event room the evening before to have a henna (mehndi) party and dance party.  Preferably we would like to all be able to stay in the same resort/hotel where the wedding pre-party and actual wedding events would take place.

Please let us know if you have any information for us!  Thanks!

Dear Neeti: Hello welcome to the  forum !!!  Destination Wedding is an amazing time that everyone remember,  I have done  Indian weddings in the past and I can recommend Dreams Tulum, Dreams Cancun , Blue Esmerald  and Grand Velas  for  weddings  they are experts and have experienced staff  for Indian Weddings.

We also as company offer private events  with authentic Indian food (my chef is Indian), decor and  mhendi ceremonies , please let me know  if  you may need something

Sandy

I thought I had found all the Indian-related posts, but somehow missed this one!

Shimona, we are having a traditional Hindu wedding in a mandap on the beach, but in Tulum. The one drawback to Tulum is that we aren't having everyone stay at the same place; the beach is dotted with tons of boutique hotels... though there are resorts (Dreams Tulum, Gran Bahia Principe among them). We're expecting between 100-150 guests and chose Las Ranitas in Tulum.

Sandy, we've had so much difficulty finding mehndi services! I will contact you separately about this. Thank you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
