Hi guys. I'm confused. What does OOT stand for? Sorry! I was thinking that instead of doing welcome bags, that I would have bottles of wine delivered to each person's room with a note saying it was from us. And, also like a pamphlet with the activites of the weekend. I'm just not sure if I should buy the wine down there in bulk- which I think might be a lot of money because everything there is imported or see if I can get a case or something sent from a preferred vineyward. I don't know if that's even allowed to have cases of liquor shipped into the country. Not sure!

OOT Bags are "Out of Town" bags that bride and grooms put together for their guests to thank them for coming to their wedding. Usually filled with items theymight have forgotten at home, along with some fun things they can use while they are there.
The bottles of wine are also a good idea. Not sure about cost though. I would be afraid to bring them down myself bc of customs and possible breakage. Maybe check to see if a costco is near by where you are planning to go....they might have something. I would think purchasing down there would be much easier then lugging all that down with you, but who knows.
Has anyone bought wine down there to give out to their guestshuh.gif

Im pretty happy with the bags and their contents. However I feel a little lingering feeling like Im missing something or should have something else in there. I may break down and buy something else to put in them as I still have a year to go, but for now they are done and are going into storgae until I decide as to whether I ship them to Playa Del Carmen or whether I lug everything down there. On the plus side, I will have an empty suitcase to fill with souveniers and statues when I come home.....hmm...thats an idea...lol

Thanks for looking ladies, and if you have any further ideas as to what I might be missing, I would love to hear them. I have decided against getting beach towels due to cost and weight of my luggage so thats out.

Thanks again for all of your post and helping me with ideas on my OOT bags!
So glad I found this forum!
Thanks for looking and Congrats to all the brides to be and newly weds!
Jennifer

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
