Who sees your website?

Recommended Posts

I created a website through The Knot and sent it to people who I plan to send formal invites. The wesbite of course includes info about us, cute stories about how we met, the wedding date, the resort, our travel agent, etc. I was wondering is it bad taste to send the website to people that I have no intention of inviting?

I don't think that's a good idea. It's kinda like sticking a cookie in front of someone's face and then telling them they can't have it. :P

I know if someone sent me a link to their website, I would take it as a hint that I would get invited. And when the time came around, I would wonder why I didn't get an invite...

Not very nice. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't do it.

I agree. I wouldn't send it to anyone who doesn't have something to do with the wedding/isn't invited. It just seems kind of pointless for them to have details if they aren't a part of the big picture.

That's just me though, if you're proud of your website and want to show it off then go ahead!

I don't think you should send them the link in an email or anything, but I do have a link to our website on this site and on Facebook so other people can see it but they are not invited!

Also I can see sending to friends and stuff if you are only inviting family down, then it might not be so tacky.

Good luck

Now I am soooo PI$$ED off ... you mean to tell me that I am not going to get an invite to everyones wedding after I visited their website..AARGH !!!

Just Joking...I would have to agree that if you are not going to send them an invite to the wedding do not send them an invite to view your website. Its like saying- "Look at this GREAT celebration I am going to have, just not with you !!! "

On the flipside I have a link to my wedding website on facebook so that anyone can view if they choose too, but I don't invite people to look.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
