What color flowers go with blue/chocolate color theme

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

My bridesmaids will have blue (Pool) dresses. I will try and match this color throughout with the decorations. I will also have an accent color of chocolate (or esresso). What kind of flowers should I use for:

1. bouquet

2. men's boutoniere

3. decorations

Should I attempt a flower that has blue or do you think a cala lili would be the best option?

Thanks for the advise. I do really like Calla lillies. My next question would be, does this look ok on the guys shirts? They will most likely wear white or cream colored shirts. What would they use for the boutoniere? Sorry, this is just not my area of expertise. I need all the help I can get!

Turquoise blue is my color and I stressed about this for a long time. Ultimately I decided I'm going to go with cream calla lilies. I'm going to bring in the blue color in other ways. For my bouquet I plan to wrap a turquoise blue satin ribbon around the bouquet. I think it's going to look beautiful. I love cream calla lilies.

It depends what theme you're going for. I'm a minimalist and like clean simple lines, modern, sleek looks. That's why I think calla's will work best for me. If you're going for tropical & fun then I've seen orange or pink look really stunning against the blue, not my personal style but I do think it looks great.

I agree that cream or white calla lilies (or orchids) would look beautiful. Mini calla lillies would look great for the guys' boutonnieres. The best thing about large calla lillies is that the bridesmaids can carry one each if you want to keep costs down. Add blue or brown accents with ribbon. Centerpieces could incorporate brown through some stems/branches if you're going that direction, or blue hydrangeas if in season/available at your location.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
