Tungsten wedding bands

Kits55 - so I'm curious then what kind of engagement band you have, because I'd thought that the tungsten would be so much harder than gold would be (either white or yellow) so it might not be the best combination? Do you have a gold band on your e-ring? My thinking is that if having even a 10k gold ring next to an 18k gold ring, one will wear the other down more... so why wouldn't it be the same case with gold next to tungsten. Does that make any sense at all??

I showed my FI the site and he seemed to really like them too! I think we'll be ordering from there for sure!
Yah the hardest part now will be figuring out if we should get him the 6mm or 8mm band width. I was surprised a bit that he didn't argue at all with the one I'd chosen, even after seeing the others. But I guess that one shopping trip we did a few weeks ago gave me enough info to pick out something he'd want!

Haha, and of course I made a gushy comment about "aww how cute is it that he picked out a ring for me and now I got to pick out a ring for him" just to rub it in a little bit!! Then of course he countered my comment that maybe its better I pick it out because after all, it is my way of saying "hey b*!ch he's mine - right?!" What a guy!

Lol- that's hilarious! I'm so glad he found a ring he liked! My FI was looking at the different black ones, too- they've got a nice selection on their site.

I'm so glad to hear this review is helping people out- thanks for the feedback everyone!

My FI just went for the plain stovepipe style - the "Thor" (lol) is what he picked. He wanted a stovepipe style with a comfort fit and the 8mm width as he has really big hands and didn't want anything too thin. As a side note- my rings are size 4.5 so they look soooo tiny next to his- my engagement ring fits inside his band even with the raised diamond. Should make for some cute pictures of the rings at the wedding.

I totally thought that FI would be up for this style too, but he is actually getting the 'Imperial' band, once we figure out the correct size that he needs. We requested a ring sizer from them just so make sure.

I can't believe that your entire e-ring fits inside of his!! You must have the most tiny little hands!! But those will totally be cute pictures for sure!

I actually have a platinum engagement and wedding band. I had to get a different band (Tungsten) when we moved to Africa. The Tungsten is extremely hard. So hard in fact that it is very difficult to etch, engrave, or put diamonds/other stones into.

Your questions do make sense, and yes, I wouldn't mix metals because one may wear faster than the other.

I'm sorry if I confused everyone! I wear the Tungsten Carbide band in Africa but my platinum one in the US.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
