Sending out wedding info in an email???

Recommended Posts

What do you guys think about sending out our preliminary wedding information in an email. I do not have time to get any STD's together and we're only 4 months away so I figured I'd get going on the formal invites and send them out 3 months in advance. What should I include in the email: the date (duh!), travel info (air/hotel), planned activities. I'm going to work on a wedding website this weekend and if I can get it going will include the link and include all of the info listed above in the website. Did anyone else take this route?

I'd like to include some verbiage asking people to let me know if they will attend so that we can plan accordingly. Anyone have any suggestions?

Well one of the first things I did when I decided on a date was to do a wedding website. I thought this was the best way to provide info to our guests and to others who wouldn't be able to make the trip. I have put all the info I know so far on the website and it has rsvp features which I did one for the wedding and one for the wedding weekend itself and I noted if they could rsvp as to is they will make the trip or not that way i can get an idea. Well only my sister used that function and Know more people know that they are going....

Anyway, in order to tell people about the website, I just sent a mass email and said that for information on our wedding date, please visit this website.

I think I am also going to send invites in the next month or so because for a DW i don't see the point in waiting until the traditional like 2-3 mo. before. By that time they should have probably already booked their trip.

Thanks Michelle! What service did you use to create your website?

I started using weddingannouncer.com last night. So far, I am very impressed by it. I've read there are problems with the RSVP feature because guest have to have a individual code to RSVP. You are also only allowed so many pictures, but its still alot. The best part is its free.

It sounds like weddingwindow.com is the best, but cost around $75 for a year. There is a great thread about websites. I'll look it up & post the link.

Lisa, I used wedquarters.com....I love it!! I can't make a decision to save my life....so I looked at so many of them before I decided. I really didn't want to have to pay for one because there so many that were free!! But for one thing I didn't want advertisements on it which you get with the free ones. Second, I wanted the page to be able to do alot of things since I am not even going to send rsvp cards w/ my invites...I am going to direct them to the website to rsvp that way and they even have a spot to do meal choices if I choose to go the plated dinner route.

So I looked at wedding window alot and liked it but wedquarters seemed to do the same things pretty much...I think wedding window was a tad bit more enhanced but it costs like $50 more a year.

Plus for me, I needed to have it hosted for over a year because I created it before my 1 yr mark....so I had to pay a tad extra but i believe it cost me $43 for 18 months...I chose to not pay for the domain name...so my website is hosted at

Michelle Carlevato & Bradley Haley's Wedding Website - WedQuarters

The only thing I wish it had for a feature is automatic updates. For example guests could mark that they want to be notified of any updates to the website but I can't seem to find that feature. I don't know if the other sites have it or not??

Long winded....sorry!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
