Eeek!! why isn't she asking me for a deposit? i WANT to give a deposit. hahahah

i totally agreee Chrissi that i'm a little uneasy about not having a deposit down. although i do have email confirmation that our dates and times are booked.

I'm so excited to see other people here getting married at GBP! now if only we could find some brides who got married there already!

and chrissi thanks for the email addy, i'm going to email her about the room rates and she what she says, probably nothing, but worth a shot. plus i need a map of the hotel grounds as we are doing an Amazing race event on our 2nd day there. yippeee!

tim-juleswed, i'm excited you are booking the private room! that is awesome. i considered it but not sure i want to spend the extra moola. but do you get to have your dance and everything in there? maybe i'll wait until i get there to see what hte room looks like and then decide. i'm trying to spend as little as possible so we have more for our honeymoon! heheh

Kerrij - Yes the private function includes a DJ and dancing and a mic for speeches. So to us it was worth the extra money. I was planning on spending about $5k on the wedding and this will come in just under that. Having the first dance and everything was important to us. So we will get married in the Gazebo then pictues and then the private reception at about 5:30 till midnight. Not sure where the reception is, she mentioned I got to pick the place, so I'm guessing we do that when we arrive.

Hey all,

so it's been two weeks since I have last heard from Beverly and I'm freaking out. My wedding is in 4 months but I have questions for her and she won't get back to me!! sad.gif She also asked for a deposit and hasn't been heard form since I am a bit relunctant to send my credit card info through the fax if I don't know she is there to get it...Has anyone heard from her latelyhuh.gif My friend that got married in the DR a few years ago said the turn over rate for the onsite Wedding Planners is big and I'm wondering if she simply doesn't work there anymore.

Please if anyone has heard from her let me know. Or if anyone else is having a problem tracking her down also let me know...starting to stress!

Thanks all!

Hey Chrissy,

yes I did hear from her eventually and I sent my card info over. She hasn't yet taken the money from me either but in due time. If you still can't find her I suggest giving her a call. She is still there but perhaps jsut really busy this time if year. I'm not sure. As I said I got a reply back from her and then faxed my CC info and she e-mailed me to say she got it. Fingers crossed everything works out...keep trying and you should hear soon.

Keep me posted on how you are doing with her and the planning.

oh thank you so much for your answer. I am really relieved now... yeah probably you are right, it is the high season at the moment so she could just be busy... I will just wait, it is still a year for our wedding from now, so there is no rush... just weird that they dont want our money :-D normally this is the first thing companies take :-)

so how many of your guests have booked their rooms yet? I will be so excited to see the first person booking... cant wait...

so have fun with the further planning.. wish you a great week

Hi Ladies!!! I am sooo excited to see there is a thread on GBP.... I am still undecided on where I'm going to book my wedding. It's between Iberostar Rose Hall Suites or GBP.... My travel agent gave me a really good price for GBP- for five night with air it comes to 1014.00 per person... Iberostar is 1450.00 for five nights.. I am just a little nervous about GBP because there are not many reviews or pictures about the weddings here. I think that I would also pay more so I can have the private reception as well.. I must admit I do feel extremely better now that I stumbled upon this thread.. I think I will contact Beverly to see if my date is available... Thanks for all the valuable info that everyone has provided so far... Please keep posting info... If I find out anything I will let everyone know. Also I have been looking for photographers and Sun Gold seems to do wonderful work. I know there is a thread for this photographer so you guys should check it out... Happy planning!

Jo

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
