Then to call me 2 days after giving me a quote and giving me a different one, I was NOT impressed. And I definitely do not find there is anything good about the prices they're getting. They aren't any better than anyone else. I got the whole story about if we don't do a group booking we may not get on the same flight, blah blah. We've done enough travelling and have family in the airline business that we're going to either do our own, or wait until June. Keeping costs down is too important for us if we want our children at our wedding, which obviously we do. We've booked several trips through itravel2000 and really like them, and 1 trip through sell off vacations and did just fine. You aren't going to tell me that if we find a good price, get everyone to call the same day in May or June for November that we won't get on the same flight if we're going to the same resort. Either that or I'll deal with someone else. Belair travel maybe or Sell Off. Weddings are big business and everyone wants you to part with your money.

On a happier note, we did some browsing shopping yesterday and think we have our colours, my dress, maid of honour dress, flower girl dress and the guys Tommy Bahama shirts!!  Woohoo! Try ons are scheduled for Mar 19th. Guava, watermelon, and fuschia pink. De colours of de island mon!!!

Hey Cupcake,

Thanks so much! Yes it was. We didn't get an upgraded room, regarding what was in it, but the view was absolutely amazing. We had the best view out of all the guest rooms that I was in...

Good Luck!! It's gonna be here before you know it! woot.gif

Hi All,

I'm new here, and in the process of planning a January 2012 wedding at the GBPJ! The information on here has been so helpful - I cannot thank you guys enough!

I did have one question however.  I've seen a lot of information on here about the semi private vs private reception options.  Most seem to say that they've had their reception at Dolce Vita.  I was just wondering if there's an option to have a reception set up on the beach? Has anyone done that/heard about that as a possibility?  Also, it seems like most people who opt for the private reception have larger groups.  Has anyone had a private reception with a smaller group? I just want to make sure the room doesn't look empty!

Thanks so much and happy planning!

Hey! Welcome!

Unfortunately no, they don't do any meal service or reception outdoors. You're completely restricted to one of the 2 restaurants. You can have your dinner at one of the restaurants and rent the gazebo for a dance afterwards though (a lot of brides on here have done that).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
