I worked on a fun DIY project today - cootie catchers! I thought it was a cute/fun idea for cocktail hour. We are going to be taking pictures during cocktail hour so it can help as an ice breaker. We created three different kinds. Two of them are random facts about us, and than the third one has little dares like Introduce yourself to someone new, pose for a photo, drink a cocktail, etc.

The template is in powerpoint, I attached it for anyone that would like to use it. (There are instructions with the attachment, that probably are a lot better than Im going to explain! LOL) You can print it with the lines or without the lines. The only thing when you print without the lines you dont have a guide to cutting the paper or folding it. I couldnt figure out how to change the color of the lines either, so I traced over them with the color I wanted. Than just hid the background image which is the lines provided, so only my color lines are visible. Than I just created a line border through the outer flaps, and the first inner flaps. Theres a few borders available in powerpoint.

FYI - to hid the lines, just right click outside the box, in the open space, and select format picture. Than click the checkbox for hide background graphics.

I still need to practice folding a bit better, so normally in my pictures you wouldnt see that brown line. So forgive my beginner skills. LOL But I was so excited about them that I wanted to share NOW. LOL

Here is when I first printed it out:

First fold, you flip it over to the blank side and than fold each corner up to the middle:

Second fold, turn paper over so the folded sides are face down, and fold corners to the middle again:

Now fold the square vertically, crease it, than fold it horizontal and crease it. Just slip your fingers under the flaps and you can push your finger in the middle to form it. And there you have it :)

Heres a picture of seeing the fortunes...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
