Hi Brides!

Congratulations on your upcoming destination weddings. I would love any advice from fellow Half Moon brides, and am happy to share my vendors with anyone getting married in Jamaica.

My photographer is Christopher Dumas (ChristopherDumas.net). Based out of the Boston-area, he loves to travel for weddings, is incredibly professional and talented.

My wedding band is the Chokey Taylor Reggae Band. I hear they are a real blast, and know more than just reggae.

My wedding planner is JoAnn Gregoli from Elegant Occasions (elegantoccasions.com). JoAnn has designed some of the most magnificent weddings, and has been in the business for ~20 years, so she has great contacts at most destinations.

My stationery designer is Abby Bennett (abbyryandesign.com). Though she has a limited roster of wedding invitations, her work is impeccable, her ideas are creative, and she has a gift for turning an inspiration into a masterpiece.

I found my perfect wedding dress at David's Bridal, but for the Philadelphia bride interested in wearing a designer dress, was very impressed with The Sample Rack at La Fourno at 8th and South. Great selection, quirky but excellent help.

Best,

Jen

Hi Ms325i,

I selected the Galina Signature chiffon A-line dress with a beaded bodice and sunburst pleated skirt.

David's Bridal - Chiffon soft A-line with fully beaded bodice and sunburst pleated skirt.

I thought the pleated skirt added some interest to the dress without it being overdone for a simple beach ceremony. Also - it is super comfortable, and I didn't want to have to make sure I starved myself the day before. I tried on a few dresses where you would have been able to see a cracker in my stomach had I dared to eat one wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
