Help! Which All Inclusive in Riviera Maya?

Recommended Posts

Hello and welcome! You will LOVE this forum!

We chose the Catalonia Riviera Maya because it was the most reasonable. My guests are paying $1100 for 7 days/6 nights, including flights from Michigan to Mexico, all transportation and it's also an AI resort. Not to mention it is kid friendly as we have friends/family bringing some kids.

Good Luck in your search! ;-)

I ended up chosing Dreams Riviera Cancun. Here are some of the things that I actually ranked the resorts on for importance to help me make the decision. Adults only or kids allowed (I totally would have went AO if I could have), cost, Location (I didn't want cancun, but I didn't want to be as far down as tulum either), price of wedding package, pictures on Trip Advisor for look and feel of the rooms, and the rest of the resort. One thing to note about dreams resorts, there are no wrist bands, so you don't have to worry about them being a nusence for you or your guests on the wedding day (most resorts allow to to remove them for the day).

We chose the Iberostar Del Mar for our wedding. The Iberostar has 5 levels and the del mar is the least expensive. I think (from St. Louis) our guests are paying $1300 per person for 7 nights. I thought this was a great deal!! We also liked this resort because they have a gazebo, the beach, and a chapel for the ceremony. They also have a great option for a private reception.

I chose the Riu Palace- I have stayed at the Riu Palace in Cabo and it was amazing! The property and the staff. The prices are around $200 per night. They have a beach and gazebo option. Also, they have several nice restaurants and bars to definitely please all of your guests. The only thing I have come across this far that I'm not too happy about is that no matter what time your wedding is the reception is from 8:45- till 11:00 at night- kind of a late and awkard time (and for it to be private the two hours is going to run around $1700 extra)

Grand Velas was more than that and Sensatori was about the same. I know Secrets Silversands is a very modern resort too. They are running some specials right now.
Wow! That sounds like a great price for Le Blanc! How many days/nights is that for?

Where did you get the $378 per person for the Grand Velas? Did you use a travel agent for that? I found it SO much cheaper to get a quote directly from the hotel. I did a site visit at Grand Velas and Azul Sensaotri.... I can't say enough great things about the Grand Velas. Its the best resort I've ever stayed in.... It's amazing!!

A travel agent would definitely help you to find great group rates. We narrowed it down to a few we liked, and decided on the Grand Palladium because we have been there and LOVE the resort. It's about $150 pp per night (cdn) but most of our guests will be going on the whole package deal.

It can definitely get overwhelming in choosing if I doubt you will be disappointed with any resort in that area. They are all amazing...speaking from experience!

Good Luck!

I also really like the Secrets resorts. Does anyone have any information on these. I know they are similar to Dreams on Adults-only but what about their weddings and are they more expensive?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
