Help! Which All Inclusive in Riviera Maya?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

My fiance' and I are interested in Riviera Maya, and we are trying to decide which resort at which to have our wedding. The tourism market in Mexico is severely depressed, so we are hoping for some great deals. We're trying to find out what resort people suggest, and what it would cost for our guests in room prices. I've seen a lot of wedding package prices, but these are negligible compared to room rates at all-inclusives. We love the high end ones like the Grand Velas or Azul properties, but we can't really ask our friends to pay $500 a night, (GV's group rates in double occupancy are $378 each and $680 for a single person in a room!) but we're looking for the best and most beautiful we can manage. We don't really have a max amount, but I guess you could say $200 a person per night max and we're expecting to have about 20 to 30 rooms. Maybe more. If you went there, how much did your guests pay? We are considering a wedding between January and April of 2010, and are flexible except for summer (we own a summer camp in Maine for kids so summers are never possible) or maybe September to December of 2010. Any suggestions? Thanks! Ty.

I had the same difficulties trying to decide on a resort! I chose Dreams Riviera Cancun (the brand new resort that just opened in October). I am getting married in February 2010 and our guests will be paying about $1100-1200 pp for room (all-inclusive) and flight for a 4-night stay. Although they can stay longer/shorter if they want to. I am so excited now that pictures are finally out of the resort...it looks beautiful!! And I think Dreams resorts have a good reputation. Hope that helps!

Hi Laura,

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! A few questions regarding your prices.

You said they paid 1100 to 1200 with flight and 4 nights. Where are the flights from? What is the per night price? Is the price a deal? Or is the price their basic amount? I assume this is for a group rate. Did you guarantee a number of rooms or room nights? If so, how many? Thanks and sorry for so many questions.

Ty

I sent you a PM. I have a block of 20 rooms held for four nights until December 1st through my Travel Agent ( I don't think I answered that one in the PM! )

I am also curious about which all-inclusive people would recommend. I love dreams but I can't decide between Cancun, Tulum or Cancun Riviera.

I also really like the Secrets resorts. Does anyone have any information on these. I know they are similar to Dreams on Adults-only but what about their weddings and are they more expensive?

I did a lot of research on the resorts in the area and absolutely love the Riu Palace Riviera Maya. I have stayed at a sister resort in Cabo and it was aboslutely beautiful. I feel like the resort has a lot to offer my and my guests and the prices are reasonable. You should check it out and visit our thread! =)

Best of luck!

We ended up going with the Barcelo Maya Palace for our June 2010 wedding. What is nice about our resort, is that it is the Highest grade resort, on a complex of five resorts. Our guests can stay at the other four resorts and save $ by doing it that way. The lowest end has rooms for $192 per night, and that's off their website so a travel agent can usually get a better deal. Our wedding package is about $3100 and that includes almost everything I could want. So I think Barcelo Maya is a pretty good deal.

Before giving up on Grand Velas or Azul, check with a TA. I am getting married at Le Blanc. Grand Velas and Azul Sensatori were two of my top choices as well. While, Le Blanc is still about $500 a night, I did get better deals than I expected. It ends up being about $1000-$1250 per person, including airfare. Grand Velas was more than that and Sensatori was about the same. I know Secrets Silversands is a very modern resort too. They are running some specials right now.

I've been looking for the same answers! I love Grand Velas but I can't ask my guests to pay $500/night. My TA suggested Azul Sensatori or Gran Melia Cancun in the Riviera Maya. I don't want my wedding in Cancun but Gran Melia is a 5 star, AAA 4 diamond resort right outside of Cancun. They are offering good group rates - around $900 pp for 4 days/3 nights + airfare. I have not seen the wedding package yet... Azul Sensatori is around $1100 pp. My fiance proposed at The Valentin Imperial Maya which was an amazing resort too! It's adult only so we can't do it for our wedding but they have a cute chapel on the resort.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
