need your help! PV newbie

Recommended Posts

Newbie here!!! We just deciced that we too are going to get married in Mexico, in Puerto Vallarta to be exact. We are just starting the preparations, and have about 6 months to arrange it all....

We deciced that we will stay at Dreams too, like most of you, right? Want to get married at the Guadelupe church.

So, here are my questions; which company for flowers, transportation, tours (we have been to PV before but most of our friends and family have not) etc etc. Other tips are welcome!

Did anybody go to Caletas for a rehearsal dinner? We do not want to get married there, but maybe a rehearsal dinner would be nice...

As for locations we are looking at is Terra Noble, Casa Amor, maybe just Dreams... we are not sure yet...

Congrats & welcome to the forum! Yep, another Dreams bride here. Def check out the PV threads - they're so helpful with planning. If you're considering a reception at one of the resorts they usually have packages that would include things like flowers (well at least some of them).

Good luck with everything & don't hesitate to ask us for help, opinions, whatever! :)

yeah! welcome! there is so much info on here, most of your questions are probably already answered somewhere in these threads. as far as choosing whether to have your reception at dreams or somewhere else, i think there are just so many options out there and it depends on a lot of things, for example, budget, number of guests, your vision of the day etc etc.... if you are the kinda gal who likes the wedding packages and it just sort of keeps everything simple for you, that's a good way to go. if you want some more unique touches and not so much a DIY bride, then maybe an outside planner like Dazzling Details is the way to go too, just depends what you want and what you want for your guests. there are so many good options and I'm sure what you are looking for is out there! have fun planning!

I would recommend a wedding coordinator to help with all the vendors. They can usually negotiate better rates and know which vendors to trust.

As far as tours, we have used Vallarta Adventures on previous trips and were very happy with them. If you email them they usually will provide a small discount for groups and they are very helpful with any questions you may have about the trips.

Have you toured any of the locations you listed? Those are all very different locations in very different areas of PV (or Saluyita).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
