I contacted the lady named Tania and asked about having a case of 200ml rum sent to Beaches of Negril. Another contact person promptly wrote me to say this could be done. However, after checking

she said the lady at the GIFT SHOP would set aside a case for me. The cost was to be $191! No way mon! The gift shop was getting a nice cut.

Thanks for the suggestion to buy at the airport. We will do exactly that. Many , many thanks for the helpful tip. This forum has been amazingly helpful!

Great idea for a wedding in Mexico. You can most likely get it at the airport or a wholesale liquor store. Maybe your WC can point you to a place in the area of the resort.

I'm thinking of having rum for our favor also.

I also read that post and contacted Appleton Estates. They said they would ship it to the "Beaches giftstore" for a crazy price. I then read somewhere that there is a store right beside the AA gate that they purchased all the favors for about 3 dollars a bottle. I think I'm going to take my chances and try that.

I have not had my wedding yet but I was at the ROR in may and did a little shopping. The rum is VERY VERY cheap at the stores. Not only that they work with you and if they know you are purchasing a large amount they will give you a good deal. Never pay the price that is listed on the bottle. We bout the large bottles to take home for $15, and would imagine you can get the small ones for a really good price.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
