But when I make a cutoff for who is attending the wedding, I am going to adhere to it. If you haven't confirmed you are coming there won't be a seat for you at the wedding. Mostly because I'm a bitch but also, if you can't effing send an RSVP back or click a button on a website then you don't get to attend. We are inviting way too many people and are hoping a lot won't make it.

If they are booked anyway that's their thing they can have a great vacay and just not be in attendance and won't be on the seating chart.

I was thinking of making the final RSVP cutoff like 2 months before though because it seems that's when I need to start confirming numbers for vendors.
I absolutely love the "mostly because I'm a bitch" line! LMAO rofl.gif

To the OP - it probably won't make you feel any better but we are just over 6 months out and NO ONE has booked!! STD's were sent out over 5 months ago!! Not even our parents our booked!!! Talk about WTF?! censored.gif They know they are coming, so why not just freakin make your reservation already!!! I guess that would be too easy. So I'm sure we'll have the same battle after we send out the actual invites and will have to hound people to try and get them to RSVP.

At least we all have this forum to vent!

OK, it is nice to know that I am not the only one wanting to poke peoples eyes out!! I sent out Save the date emails that attached my wedding website info. I then sent out 50 invites with RSVP cards. So far I have received one card back and that was only because I called and asked her to mail it in. I am going to have to suck it up and call or have someone else call to see WTF is up with them not mailing back the RSVP cards. So far we have 7 plus the bride and groom booked, but only received one RSVP card and that was a person that declined the invite. Go figure. I am sure you will have a wonderful wedding and you will have everyone there that matters. Congrats, you time is approaching.

Well it finally happened......So two days ago, I'm talking to my FMIL about the AHR and she brings up the subject about reservations for the DW and starts complaining about the high prices. I thought I was going to scream! Of course the rates are higher....that's why I was reminding her almost daily to make their reservations when we first booked the DWmonths ago, but NOOOOOOOO....they kept putting it off and putting it off and now they're all ticked off that the prices are hundreds of dollars higher. And you know what, I really don't even feel bad about it. They know they are going, so why wait to book?! I even told them how our TA gave us a credit when the prices had dropped a couple of months ago.....so they knew they could get a credit if that happened to them as well. So it's not like they had to wait for the prices to drop before booking. So frustrating!!!

And while I don't feel too bad for them, because I know they can afford it....I really do feel bad for other guests who might not be able to make the trip now because prices are too high. Yes, I know it's their own fault for waiting to book, but it sucks that people will miss our DW because of it.

I'm partially torn on this same thing. We booked our DW about two months ago and were really lucky to have a bunch of friends and my parents book almost right away. Since then we've had the odd extra person book but not anything more. So that total counts for about 25/50 guests invited. Doesn't sound too bad huh? Except that none of FI's family or friends have booked. We have some mutual friends of course that have, but we're originally from two different provinces and these are the friends that he's had since childhood that haven't even RSVP'd in any form. We've at least heard from some guests verbally but nothing from them. I shouldn't complain since our RSVP deadline is the end of January but there's nothing worse than the silent answer to your invites! I really hope for FI's sake that his friends get off their butts and make an effort one of these days.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
