I am seriously not looking forward to taking the time to make invites with a bunch of good information and having RSVP's all ready to be dropped in the mail by our guests and them not doing it! I can totally understand your frustration & that's what the board is for! wink.gif

Unfortunately, you're gonna have to start calling and asking people for their RSVP's. It sucks but I'm sure it'll all work out & the people that really want to be there will be there. Good luck!

same here...I don't know what is wrong with people. I sent out like 90 invites and didnt receive ANY back. The only reason I knew people were coming is because they put their deposit down by the deadline with my TA. All the people that didn't put a deposit down OR rsvp (who I see quite frequently) still haven't said anything to us! Nice hey! Oh well I find you just need to brush it off and not let it get to you and the people that care and mean the most will be there. My final payment deadline is coming up at the end of this month so we'll see if all the people that put down deposits follow through...yikes!

We were in the same boat we sent out 80 invites and got around 8 back the funny thing is we had 32 people at the wedding. We found out most people were coming from our travel agent. I just asked our TA to let us know when people booked.

You are definitely not alone in this vent. For some reason people just don't get why they should RSVP. My wedding is in 2 months with the RSVP due date Nov 1. I put my current break down below just to make you chuckle. It may come off angry, but really I'm just laughing at how the guests make the wedding so stressful and probably don't even realize what they are doing.

Talk to your TA and encourage your guests to get moving :) bunny_4.gif

My Crazy List of RSVP Drama

* Sent out 143 Invites (DW and AHR in same invite)

* Mom sent me 2 more invites (4 guests) to add to the list yesterday

* 96 No RSVP

* 42 RSVP cards received back

* 5 RSVPs online

* 42 guests say they are booked

** 12 guests of the No RSVPs say they are booked

*** 8 guests of the above 12 are not confirmed as they didn't use my TA and I only heard from family who heard from someone else that they are going

*** 2 guests of the above 12 are getting married in a couple months and know how important RSVP cards are, but still haven't sent them in

*** The other 2 sent me an email saying they were booked

* 7 people still on the fence about going but keep bugging me about the prices that keep going up as we get closer to the date. No sh!@t sherlock, you should have booked when you got the STD or Invite months ago

People not RSVPing is really frustrating. But you're still 7 months out. I know you want more solid numbers but some people just won't know until it gets closer if they can make it or not. Nobody outside of our immediate family even started booking until September and we're at 55 right now and still have people on the brink and are only 6 weeks out. It's annoying but you just gotta go with the punches and know it's going to turn out amazing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
