April 2010 brides - get fit!

Well here's my problem... I had to order my dress in the largest of my three measurements but only because that size happened to fall on my hips and coincidentally the least adjustable part of my dress!

According to the numbers I fall into the pear shape body type although I'd never, ever been like that until the last year. I just think that I'm wrongly proportioned and should get a boob job to even out those measurements!! LOL! But alas, that isn't going to happen (before the wedding at least! HA!) and I was too scared to order the mid size in case I couldn't narrow down the hips a little before the wedding.

A long story to say simply that I think my dress is going to fit too big right from the get-go so how in the world do I get the motivation to tone down my hips, and all over, when I know that I'll be getting the dress altered to whatever size I end up being!?!?!

Stupid me and always being right in between two sizes.

And yes, what is Zumba??

Meghan, first of all: in that little itty-bitty pic I can see of you in your profile you look fabulous!! I would kill for those shoulders and that tan!! lol

Although my FI would probably disagree on me with this one - I totally wish I had half the "girls" I've been blessed with!! lol Not like they're gigantor or anything - but sometimes I would love to wear the nice slinky little summer tanks without looking like a Hoochie-Mama - especially with a kid on my hip!! lol I'm sure there will be a few Brides who would disagree with me on this - but I tell ya, I'd rather be able to add some with the VS ultimate cleavage bra then not be able to strap them in small enough!! lol

They are the first place I gain and loose weight too! It's a pain in the a$$ I have different bra sizes for every day of the month!!

I am pretty well proportioned, and no one can guess my weight, not even FI because I do carry it well and evenly all over! But I would like to be reacquainted with my collar bones again before my wedding day!! ;o) The girls are taking over! Haha~~

And Ladies - to keep it on topic....Back workouts, I'm not liking spillage!!! I need help!!

Tight strapless corset = excess skin spillage that I'm sure came from the front! - It's not there when I'm naked!! lol

I had a similar problem with my dress... the measurements for ordering the sizes had a really small waist and huge for the chest and hips... I thought when it arrived it would be way too big, but it really just fits almost perfectly. I will still need some alterations in the bust and hips but thank goodness I didn't order the smaller size or I'd be crying trying to squeeze into it!

Suzy!!

I can understand your fustration, but take it from someone who is very small chested. It's not that fun, Most nice dress's I can't wear cause the dress wont sit right on my chest so I always end up hanging out (tho there isn't much to hang out lol)

I even had to put padding in my wedding dress!!!! I can't wear just any sexy night gown sad.gif has to be one that isn't cut on the chest area (if you know which ones i'm speaking of)

It would be nice to be in the middle, not big, not small.. just perfect (is there such thing!)

Great idea to start a thread like this. I have always eaten pretty healthy, but have recently changed my diet to mostly vegetarian. Here is a dish that I have made a few times that is delicious and makes for a great leftover lunch:

2 cups of instant brown rice

1 cup of cabbage

2 carrots

1/2 cup red onions

1 cup mushrooms

1 cup brocolli

2 leaves of Kale

1/3 Soy Sauce

3 Tbsp Organic Peanut Butter

2 tsp crushed garlic

Cook Veggies in a large pan while cooking rice in another pan. While those are cooking combine soy sauce, peanut butter, and garlic and mix well. Once both are cooked combine in the large pan and add the sauce.

I LOVE this meal!!! It is SOOO healthy and I love having the leftovers for lunch. I always feel like if you have a good lunch to look forward to you won't be tempted to visit those evil fast food restaurants.

Hope you enjoy!!

I have gone to the gym 2x this week...I'm hoping to make it 3x and I'll be happy!

For any of you on an eating plan if you want to track what you're eating and calories/fat/carbs etc, I like the site FitDay, which is free

FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal

This one is also supposed to be good but I've never used it:

Lose Weight with the LIVESTRONG Calorie Tracker | LIVESTRONG.COM

Sometimes when you really keep track of what you eat it helps you stop eating so much. You can also track your weight and BMI on there and your exercise. Not every single food is on it but once you add a food it will save it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
