This past appointment time, I knew it was about six months so I called to book and was disappointed that it was going to take a few weeks... until they realized that I had already booked way back at my previous appointment! That just seems so much more like me to do :) I'm a freak :)

Way to go on the workout too b.t.w!! Suzy - You and I should totally try and get together for classes somewhere!! And I totally love your modifications to the diet. Honestly though, I just don't know if my body could be sustained on that little food. I have nothing against trying it, but I have also experienced the downside of my limits too (yes ladies, I blacked out while standing up at a girlfriends wedding... twice).

Our thanksgiving this year is going to be RIDICULOUS!! So far we have 18 people coming over and there are still some people who haven't replied. This is most definitely NOT the time to start watching what I eat.

As for the curly hair, or really wavy hair, yes it is natural and 99% of the time is a pain in the ass! There's that whole if you have it one way you want the other? Well I can have curly OR straight and I want STRAIGHT! LOL! But having grown up in southern ontario I've experienced some unpleasant humidity and I would still say that April in Mexico wasn't bad at all. Make sure that you've got a good gel and hairspray. I found that mouse was too gentle to keep the frizz down and the curls in good shape. I don't think I even tried to straighten it once to be honest. Not worth the headache most of the time. Although it has me wondering what I'll do for the wedding sad.gif
Know whatcha mean!! I love the feeling of my mouth after a good dental clean!! lol I'm a freak too! That does seem like very little food, I commend jerseykitten for being able to do it! By the amount of food I consume I should consider myself lucky but I will attempt to curb my eating habits - I pretty much have to - I do not want spillage over the strapless dress!! lol
No Passing out!! you have to be really careful of that!!! I think FI needs you conscious for at least a little while, watch out for the tequila the culprit too!!...
You have your hands full for Thanksgiving!! Glad it's you!! lol, we're going to a friends house, tradition, so I only have to make 2 pies, but I do Christmas dinner at our house for all our friends who can't make it home or with family for the Holidays, there are usually a few meals happening over the Christmas weeks - everyone is well fed!! Funny thing is, I always gain my weight in the summer and loose it in the Winter, even with all the Holiday eating! Who wears a bathing suit for Christmas anyway?
I'm also with you on the pain in the a$$ hair!! Mine used to be one big a$$ frizz ball on the best of days, but Alberta's dryness is heaven for curly/wavy hair!! NS Humidity = Alanis Morrisette's first album she didn't want anyone to know she recorded!! lol Big "early 90's" curl, oh yeah!!
Thanks for the tips on gel and spray! I'll have to start experimenting with product now. I think for my wedding I'm just going to do a low chignon bun loose and sort of natural....not messy looking but not structured either, so some of my curls will definitely come through! I have to wear it up, because I think I'm going to melt, my hair is really long and thick, I want to wear it down but it'll prob look like I jumped in the pool in about an hour!! There will be no flat iron in mexico!! :o)
Still haven't decided about flowers or veil?? I could use some help on that one ladies!!

Sorry everyone for rambling I don't get to talk to adults too often!
Since this is the Get Fit thread, Can't wait to do my workout tomorrow!!! Back and biceps and more elliptical!!

Again...I go to the doctor every 1-2 weeks. He did a million blood tests and even had me lay on some freaky machine that scanned my body and told him more stuff about me....generally you shouldn't go below 1200 calories without a doctor.

for the curly hair, I don't know if you've heard about or thought about Brazilian Keratin straightening - I have before and after pics posted in another thread

Also, here is a link to online yoga classes

YogaClass.com - the YogaChannel

and online pilates - although I usually like yoga better, I love these pilates classes - someone had posted these on BDW a while ago - I was doing them regularly for a while and noticed a difference - maybe tomorrow morning I will be motivated!

Wholly crap jerseykitten, YOU are AWESOME!!!
I hadn't heard about the Brazilian Keratin Straightening!! I actually had the Japanese straightening done years ago and it didn't work - It definitely made my hair easier to style but I still had to flat iron it daily! So like how much are we talking here - is it comparable to the Japanese product pricing? I'll definitely have to see if any salons offer it!! I'm sooooo excited!!

BTW you deserve a peanut butter and jam day tomorrow, reward yourself!
Tanks for all the links and info too! I have to get off the computer now, my eyes are going buggy but it's definitely coffee material for the morn!
Have a great night ladies!! Sleep well!!

Wow Niki!!! Way to go on the morning workouts! Those are something I find really difficult since I'm not a morning person and yet I get up at 5am everyday still because FI is totally a morning person. But on the plus side, we get to avoid traffic a little so I guess it has trade-offs.

Oh and one additional comment I should make is that the whole blacking out thing was also due to heat and standing in the middle of an unshaded yard for the ceremony. And while its sad to say, i'm so glad that I wasn't the only 'oops' of the ceremony. The bride had wanted to release butterflies, but they'd been put in the wrong fridge (they just supposed to be slightly chilled, not COLD!) so when they didn't take flight as intended, someone had to come and collect them from the whole bridal party so we could continue! It was a little funny though and distracted people from my mess :)

I'm super lucky though because FI's mom is diabetic so he is very used to her symptoms to which mine are very similar if I haven't eaten recently. And yes, they've checked to see if I was diabetic but that was a negative. So as much as I'm sure that I could reduce the amount I eat, I would definitely need the help to make sure that I was cramming as much goodness into everything else!!

But today I did good.... brought sandwiches for lunch and grapes + yogurt for snacking.

Keratin is way better than Japanese - i barely need to flat iron - it was $250 to get it done.

Okay girls, I've been doing okay with the workouts- hitting the elliptical, but this weekend I have THREE, yes three, turkey dinners scheduled. Pray for me lol- probably gain ten pounds. Before we moved away from home I was worried about being alone on holidays but we can barely squeeze everyone in.

Ah yes, NS humidity, I recall it well. Straightening my hair was a chore, and it's not even that curly lol. One good thing about moving. Where are you from in NS, SuzyQ?

Melidell - Are you a Fellow Nova Scotian too!!! There are a few of us on here!
I'm from the Darkside, I mean Dartmouth: right across our Goldeny-green Gate Bridges (the MaKay and the MacDonald) from Halifax!! Born and raised, my FI as well!
We moved to Alberta 2 years ago and love it here, but all the Fam's and a lot of friends are still residing in Hali-town!! lol I'm heading back east in Nov, and really scared of gaining weight, last time I went home I came back and my wedding dress wouldn't zip up for some reason!! I have to Hit the Treadmill Hard while in Hali!! Where are you from? Are you living there now?
I miss it and I can't wait to have some fresh seafood and to see the ocean - even if it is in NOVEMBER!!! BRRRR.....

My parents are from PEI, but I lived in NS for years- finished high school there in Dartmouth(Cole Harbour High, baby) and University too-- Dalhousie. Lol at darkside- you know the only good thing about Dartmouth is the view of Halifax lol. My FI is from Canso, born and bred. We'll be in Halifax for a visit just before the wedding and we'll fly out of Halifax to Cuba with most of the family. We've been in the NWT for over two years now, so even November back home is sounding good to me at this point. I load up on seafood whenever I get home too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
