Well don't feel too bad! That picture was from my very first vacation about a year and a half ago down in Mexico! That's part A of the tan. I'd also been in Houston for work during the five weeks prior to Mexico, being part B of the tan! I don't really burn, just tan easily so I'm lucky! The funny thing was, in this picture we were out for dinner and I was actually suffering from a bit of heat stroke so I barely remember this and a few other pictures even being taken! Maybe my nice shoulders are from hunching forward in my dizziness LOL!
But thank you for the compliments still!!!

Hahaha, when I tried my dress on in the store, it was the perfect size for my bust and back, but two sizes too small for my hips so when I tried to sit down I felt like what a huuuuuuge pregnant lady looks like with that super angled, reaching out half backwards, half sideways kind of position. I was seriously scared to fully sit in case I ripped the dress open!!

I even had to put padding in my wedding dress!!!! I can't wear just any sexy night gown sad.gif has to be one that isn't cut on the chest area (if you know which ones i'm speaking of)
It would be nice to be in the middle, not big, not small.. just perfect (is there such thing!)
I hear ya sister! Even while i was trying on dresses I had to keep adding in padding just to have some idea of how it *could* look. I even had one dress that caved inwards across the boobs - god that was so depressing sad.gif

For any of you on an eating plan if you want to track what you're eating and calories/fat/carbs etc, I like the site FitDay, which is free
FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal

This one is also supposed to be good but I've never used it:

Lose Weight with the LIVESTRONG Calorie Tracker | LIVESTRONG.COM

Sometimes when you really keep track of what you eat it helps you stop eating so much. You can also track your weight and BMI on there and your exercise. Not every single food is on it but once you add a food it will save it.
Way to go for being at the gym twice already!! I was supposed to have a yoga class last night and the instructor didn't show up. And I'm just having my very first curling practice tonight which although it's not hugely vigorous in the athletic department, it'll get me up and moving which will help get me back to the gym too. Hahaha, and I think I just proved how CDN i am too! LOL!
Thanks for the link to the livestrong site too! I'll check that out after work!

This is my Very Low Calorie Diet from my doctor to go along with my thyroid med ( just 5mcg cytomel 2x a day right now)

it's 1000 calories a day

He gives me supplements which are like Zone bars or EAS shakes that you can get at Walmart or Target between 100-200 calories - so when you see Supplement, that's what I'm talking about.

Breakfast:

1 Supplement

1 Fruit (basically 1 cup or 1 piece, like one small apple or 1 cup of strawberries)

Lunch:

2oz Very Lean Meat (Turkey, Chicken, Fish, Shellfish, Nonfat Cheese, Cottage Cheese, Egg Substitute)

or

1 oz Lean Meat (Beef-sirloin, tenderloin, roast, Veal, Pork, Seafood - Salmon, Low Fat Cheese, Lowfat Lunchmeat, Medium Egg)

1 Starch (2 lslices of diet bread, 1/2 cup cereal, 2 oz cooked pasta, 3 cups popped popcorn)

1 Vegetable (1 cup uncooked or 1/2 cup cooked)

1 fruit

Snack: 1 supplement

Dinner:

4 oz Very Lean meat

or

3 oz Lean meat

1 Vegetable

1 fat (2 tsp peanut butter, 1 tsp margarine, 1 tsp mayo, 1 tbsp reduced fat mayo, 8 lg olives)

evening snack - 1 supplement

You also get 2 optionals - 1 tbsp nonfat creamcheese, 4 tbsp nonfat margarine, 1 tbsp reduced fat margarine, 1 tbsp non fat sourcream, 2 tbsp nonfat dressing, 2 tbsp sugar free syrup, 2 tsp sugar free jelly

So now I know this seems really strict, but once you get used to it, it's not bad, and I have been losing about 1 pound a week. I mix and match some of the things too, so that I can have a Peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch sometimes, which makes me very happy!

Let me know if you have any questions.

OK, so I did 40mins on the elliptical and got my heartbeat up to a nice calorie burning pace while I watched TV (not treehouse)!!

did 4 sets of abs - I LOVE doing abs just like I LOVE going to the dentist, I'm weird

did 3 sets of triceps

did 5 mins of leg extensions (before the elliptical because now my legs are jelly!)

did four loads of laundry (in the basement of our house so 2 sets of stairs)

about to start supper!! lol

All while the baby is sleeping! Phew I need a nap, can't wait to try out that recipe...

Jerseykitten - you too, by that wee little pic look FABULOUS!! that seems like a really low cal diet, like excessively low?

I'll try it but modified, lol

My Modifications:

-NO LOW FAT cheese, that's against my beliefs, lol has to be extra old cheddar...

-quadruple the amount of sour cream

and I think I can work with everything else!! lol

-hopefully salsa is a freebie, it usually is on most diets/low cal

Thanks though, I can't wait to try it...Monday, need a full week to start and don't forget Canadians - this weekend is Canadian Thanksgiving weekend!!

I'm making apple streusel pie and coconut cream pie to take to the dinner we're going to - low fat of course ;o)

Meghan - I love the curling mention!! Sooooo Canadian! I have a ton of friends who do it back home in NS and they love it! I've never tried, but like you said it'll get you out of the house!!

I LOVE yoga, I go to Hot Yoga on 17th, correction: have gone to Hot Yoga on 17th...I still have like 20 classes left to use!

I need to get back into the groove - it was my little piece of heaven to myself for 1.5 hours, I miss it!!

You're probably the best looking person with heat stroke that I've seen!! lol I tan easily too although you wouldn't believe how pasty I am now!! It also looks like you have natural curly hair too!! how was it in Mexico, harder to handle? how did the humidity affect it?

The halloween siggy picture was taken the weekend I met FI last year- I gained 10 pounds after I met him, as I don't cook and he does, so where I was eating crackers and hummus for dinner, he started cooking me dinner, plus all of our traveling and eating out....I'm now a bit under where I was when we met.

The diet is very low, but I am under a doctor's care.
I don't eat any cheese or sour cream because it's just easier and the fake stuff does suck!
Salsa is under the optionals but there are no freebies like on weight watchers - everything is measured, like even lettuce, you can only have a cup, and I can eat 14 baby carrots....it's strict but it's working when nothing else, including WW was.

Sorry I didn't even think about your Halloween pic!!! That looks awesome too! ;o)

My problem is I cook too much...LOVE to cook, all the time, my life revolves around nap time and meal time!!

And when I cook it's enough to feed an army!!

Put it this way - I had a surprise Bday party for FI this weekend, had about 10-12 people over and we are still eating leftovers!! lol

made over 150 meatballs, noodles, chicken, shepherds pie, tea biscuits, huge pot of toscana soup, salads...ugh, I went way overboard - wish you all lived in AB you could come on over for supper!! lol

Speaking of which, gotta go make supper, I'm tired of leftovers!!!

I LOVE THE DENTIST!!!!!! I get freaked out if I'm late for my cleaning by anything more than a week. This past appointment time, I knew it was about six months so I called to book and was disappointed that it was going to take a few weeks... until they realized that I had already booked way back at my previous appointment! That just seems so much more like me to do :) I'm a freak :)

Way to go on the workout too b.t.w!! Suzy - You and I should totally try and get together for classes somewhere!! And I totally love your modifications to the diet. Honestly though, I just don't know if my body could be sustained on that little food. I have nothing against trying it, but I have also experienced the downside of my limits too (yes ladies, I blacked out while standing up at a girlfriends wedding... twice).

Our thanksgiving this year is going to be RIDICULOUS!! So far we have 18 people coming over and there are still some people who haven't replied. This is most definitely NOT the time to start watching what I eat.

As for the curly hair, or really wavy hair, yes it is natural and 99% of the time is a pain in the ass! There's that whole if you have it one way you want the other? Well I can have curly OR straight and I want STRAIGHT! LOL! But having grown up in southern ontario I've experienced some unpleasant humidity and I would still say that April in Mexico wasn't bad at all. Make sure that you've got a good gel and hairspray. I found that mouse was too gentle to keep the frizz down and the curls in good shape. I don't think I even tried to straighten it once to be honest. Not worth the headache most of the time. Although it has me wondering what I'll do for the wedding sad.gif

Note to brides - do not eat so little that you black out : )

Again...I go to the doctor every 1-2 weeks. He did a million blood tests and even had me lay on some freaky machine that scanned my body and told him more stuff about me....generally you shouldn't go below 1200 calories without a doctor.

for the curly hair, I don't know if you've heard about or thought about Brazilian Keratin straightening - I have before and after pics posted in another thread

Also, here is a link to online yoga classes

YogaClass.com - the YogaChannel

and online pilates - although I usually like yoga better, I love these pilates classes - someone had posted these on BDW a while ago - I was doing them regularly for a while and noticed a difference - maybe tomorrow morning I will be motivated!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
