I want to be Married Now!

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I need any input possible. I wanted to have a wedding at home at first, but i don't have a lot of guests from my side and lets just say even though he has a HUGE family, they aren't the friendliest. I really just want the two of us to be married..... even if we just have a notary do it, but I dont want to look back and regret it. So here are my ideas.

- Get married, and go on a cruise and do a Vowel Renewal Package, not only is it cheaper, but its something simple with just the two of us.

- Or, get married in Florida, like the day before or morning before boarding a cruise. I just dont know anything about Florida. Where would I look at to find someone who may could marry us on the beach or at our hotel, the day before or morning of our Honeymoon Cruise. Also, here's a little history on our situation.

We have been together for almost 9 years, (since we were 16). We have one daughter, and have everything that married couples have, except for the papers and the same last name. I just want us to be married, like yesterday, so it's so hard for me to wait until May 2010. Urrrrr, Im just ready to be married already.....

Anyways, thanks for listening, and again any advice or inputs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well.. if you get married tomorow and just do a civil ceremony, will you regret it? Honestly? If not, then just do it, but if you think you might- seven months is not that long to wait in the grand scheme of things. Especially when you consider the fact that you've already been together for nine years. My FI and I have been together for nearly seven years, living together for nearly six, own a house, joint accounts, common law as far as the insurance/tax man is concerned but to me that is just a reason to make the wedding day special. We've done so much and come so far that we deserve our day-it's a celebration of the commitment that we've spent years building! It's so personal, though, so you just need to really look inside and decide what is right for you and your FI. If you're doing a wedding just to make other people happy when all you want is just to be married already, or just because you feel like it's something you "should" care about- then just go get married and tell everyone to deal with it smile29.gif ! Your right- a vow renewal is a nice, easy thing to do, especially on a cruise, and you can get married now just to have that- seems to me that might be the best, quickest and easiest solution. Good luck- whatever you decide!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I would honestly love to have that wedding, but when it comes down to it, i know I would feel uncomfortable at my own wedding just because we come form different kinds of families, and I feel like no one will be at ease. This is the reason why I really am just leaning more to either doing a civil cereomony or something small with just us/our daughter. Thanks again.

Well congrats first of all!!!

I think you asked the right question- will you regret it if you don't have a "wedding". If not go to the court house and get hitched already.

If you want a wedding... then decide what your priorities are and set a timeline accordingly. (ex: It takes time to order a wedding dress if that is important to you.)

In the end, it's all about you two so enjoy the ride!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
