They all have a catholic package all you have to do is ask. I have been in contact with the Head of the catholic church in the Punta Cana area and in a nutshell you can do a catholic ceremony in any location other than the beach. The paper work that the priest emailed me said that as long as it's not on the beach and in a respectful location you can have it anywhere. Now if your question is you want to get married in a catholic church that is a much longer and complicated issue. The hotel has to coordinate dates and payments with the church. That is a church requirement. Most wedding coordinators are LAZY especially Dreams Punta Cana coordinator Sharron Pitches and Dreams Palm Beach coordinator Melani Mena (Yes I named names). So figure out if you want it on the resort or off the resort in a church.

Also, I'm not sure if you have been getting replies to your question off the message board but this is for the people who post the well wishes. The well wishes are nice but when people have questions they are useless.

Let me know if you are considering an off resort wedding because I have more info and all the contacts for the churches and bus companies. I am still fighting with several resorts to get them to actually do some work.
Thanks for the response. Much appreciated! I am currently communicating with Palladium Bavaro with the intent on using their facilities (Gazebo) for the catholic ceremony. I feel it may be too hard to transport all the guests to a nearby church and would love the 'openness' of a Gazebo. I also am having some difficulties getting responses. I sent some emails over a week ago and have slowly started to get responses. Are you planning on doing it at a resort or a church?

Thanks again...

No Problem, We were planning to do it at a church off the resort. Which none of that is a problem. I got in touch with a transportation company, the church and everyone in between. The only problem was the wedding coordinators who do not want to do anything outside of the package. Just remember when dealing with them that you are giving them a lot of business depending on how many people are coming down plus the cost of the wedding package. Whatever you do don't give in to what they say. Just take your business down the road if they aren't working for you. Like I said every hotel does Catholic weddings (the island is over 85% catholic) so that's not a problem. However having them actually doing something beyond these are the dates and this is how much you owe seem to be.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
