Multicolour bridesmaids?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if any of you have had your girls in different colour dresses?

I can't decide on colours yet, but FI and I were talking today and were thinking we could pick a colour and then just have the girls pick a dress, whatever style they want, in various shades of a particular colour family. Then FI even suggested that we have the guys wear a matching shirt to the girls they will be walking down the aisle with.

I have been looking for inspiration pictures, but so far, have not any luck at all.

If you have done it and have a picture, or have seen any pictures likes this, please post them, or send me the link.

I'd really appreciate it!!! :)

Thanks!

Angela I'll have to dig up some photos for you but Fi's older brother's wedding had each girl in a different color dress with the GM as her escort with a matching vest. The girls had the exact same style in different colors and the bride actually made all of the attire. I'll see if I can dig up some good pics for you!

I love the tonal idea ~ that would be my choice in blue (if I had bridesmaids). You could do this with any color - do you have a front runner?

I looked for pics too. I couldn't find any, but I did find an OK example.

You will need to click on the blue color swatch to see what I was thinking:

best of luck with everything!

We did a multicolor palette for our wedding -- ivory, coral, canary and terracotta, and pops of red.

Our girls wore dresses in canary, latte and terracotta ~ I did this because I had 8 girls (had 10 but 2 lattes dropped out last minute) and not every girl looks good in a single color. Nevertheless, I think it looked absolutely beautiful and really added a fun element to our wedding not to mention my bridal party looked fabulous!! wink.gif

Everyone had the same style of dress, except for my daughter and my junior bridesmaid, and I gave them the option to wear the dress with straps or go strapless.

If you do go multicolor, my best advice is to really streamline the theme throughout your whole wedding to get the maximum effect -- decor, programs, invites, flowers, favors, cake, etc.

Wow, MarieSam - you had a HUGE wedding party!!!! I know I looked at your planning thread and wedding pics, but how did I miss that?!?! LOL! Anyway, you and your girls looked gorgeous!!!! All the colours looked great! I will only have 4 girls .... all varying sizes ..... but maybe we can pull off something similar.

flipflop.tee - Thanks! I really love the green, and I can't see the other onehuh.gif Again, there are a lot of bridesmaid in that pic too but .... it's a good visual regardless!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
