AHR - Guest Books

We plan to do the postcard thing as well. There are some other websites like Zazzle where you can get postcards for specific places too. We are either going to get some type of book for the guests to put them in or maybe some type of treasure chest or basket to collect them (later I would put them into a scrapbook or something similar). Good luck everyone!!!

Instead of a traditional guest book I'm doing individual notecards in my wedding colors.  It's more for "well wishes" then people's addresses.  There will be a table with a large hurricane vase in the middle with approx 300 notecards (in green, yellow & orange) on either side of it with envelopes.  People can write their wishes on the card and drop it in the vase.

I figured this way I can decide after the reception how I want to display all the wishes.  Frame some of the special ones and create my own guestbook afterwards!

@cgeris - I love this idea. It's a great way to accommodate another guest book without having to buy another one or spend a lot of money. I can add the "well wishes" to our DW guestbook and the AHR guests will not feel bad because they won't even see it.

I LOVE the idea of doing postcards for the destination part. We're going to self-address and stamp them and have our guests fill them out and mail them from Cuba so we'll receive them when we get home.

For our at home reception, we're going to expand on that idea and get a whole bunch of postcards from here (home) for our guests to fill out.

Now I'll just need to find a book to display them.

We are doing the caricature drawing.  We already had it done and he placed us on the beach.  We absolutely love it and are planning on going to Kinkos to have it enlarged with a border/frame for signing.  I don't want the original drawn on as I have seen what can happen to photos if they are left out too long at a reception.  We are only have 15 in Jamaica with us so I really hadn't thought a whole lot about a guest book for there.  Guess I could take a small white board to jamaica and take pics of the guest with it on the beach.

For our AHR, we intend to do the whiteboard guestbook that a number of brides on this forum have done, and we'll make a scrapbook with those photos. Hope this helps! You should do a search on guestbooks- there are some other creatibe ideas in here if you're looking for something out of the ordinary.

I love the idea of using a caricature print as your guestbook. I have seen an example of one and it looks phenomenal! I think I may do one as well. Who did you use for your caricature pic??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
