Thanks Riss! You have nothing to be sorry about!  Like I said, everyone still had an amazing time! I was just sharing my experience in case it was helpful for any of you guys!  We ordered the lanterns on ebay and brought them to Mexico with us!  It was way cheaper to bring them with us than what the hotel was offering them for!

The officiant that was booked through the resort helped me write my ceremony.

April,

Thank you for the detailed description of everything! I am getting married there 1-21-12! I am so sorry to hear about Allibe that is unfortunate because she seems great! But despite that your wedding looked AMAZING!!!! My one question is did you put the transportation together for all your guests or did you have everyone find there own? I was trying to put it together for my guests so its one less thing they have to worry about! Let me know!! Thanks!

We got married at H3R in April 2011 and it was amazing. Luis and Allibe strongly recommended videographers from Mediamorfosis (Christian Pinto). It's been 8 months and no video.  We have no way of getting in touch with the company and the hotel has not been able to help us even though all of the money went through them.  I would not suggest using Mediamorfosis. They may be great, but 8 months is ridiculous.

Congrats Dayna! I was there in August choosing my vendors and doing my tasting. The resort is beautiful! My fiancé's parents are actually there again right now finalizing the food for the Wedding, BBQ, and meeting with Allibe for last minute questions. We're paying for all our guests' transportation to and from the airport, which we are doing through the resort. I'm not exactly sure of the price though. I can ask though if you're interested. If you have anymore questions let me know because they'll be at H3R till Saturday.

Hi Dayna,

My wedding guests all booked through a travel agent and as part of the arrangement I made with her, she set up roundtrip shuttle transportation for everyone.

When we were looking for videographers, Mediamorfosis' work looked amazing but they were out of our price range.  It's so sad you haven't received your video after 8 months... sorry to hear that!!

I also wanted to comment on the videographer Luis and Allibe recommended for our wedding.  We booked Marco Cossu and his team upon their recommendation.  We received our wedding highlight video pretty quickly (4-5 days after the wedding) and were supposed to get our video a few days after, but it ended up taking a little longer.  We got the video, but it was HORRIBLE.  The main reason we hired a videographer was to capture everything from the ceremony and reception and sure they captured everything, but there was NO AUDIO!  They didn't mic the groom, so you can't hear ANYTHING AT ALL.  I'm so upset about this.  He was also supposed to send my raw footage, but didn't even though it's stated in our contract.  I've been trying to contact him through email, but he is not responding.  I would NOT suggest using Marco Cossu.

I booked Mediamorfosis for my wedding this March and I am nervous now!  I have seen other reviews saying the same thing...that they take forever to get the video to you.  I made sure in my contract that I am withholding some payment until I get the video... the best they would take is with holding 30% that I would send right before they ship the finalized video.  I also sent them this email today to try and cover my bases.... hope it was ok!

Hi-

I have been reading recent reviews on your company and they have all had a common thread: that you do not send the video in the time you state you will or in some cases you have not sent the video at all.  These reviews are very concerning.  I want to let you know that I fully expect the video to be delivered with in the 6 month period that is written on my contract.  $3,000 is a lot of money to send to not receive a video with in 6 months. Its is important that you be careful of the service you provide your clients so you do not perpetuate a bad reputation.  Having said that, I look forward to working with you on 3-30-12. Thank you,       Brooke- I'm so sorry about them not getting the video to you yet!  Your pics are beautiful!  Luis and Allibe were telling me that they plan to use the video on their website as promo material ... hopefully it comes soon! I can't wait to see it!   Amy

  • 3 weeks later...

I believe they do. I'm not sure exactly how much the day pass is but I do know that their meal is higher than that of a guest that stays at H3R. I'm not sure what your plated prices were but mine are $20/pp for a 3 course meal etc. and if I were to have guests staying off resort it would go up to $70-80/pp not including the day pass. I hope that helps a little :)

Question, would anyone happen to know if guests that are not staying at H3R need a day pass to attend wedding events held at the resort? And if so, how much? Thanks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
