Hacienda Tres Rios Brides Post Here!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!  Just wanted to add my two cents about our vendors:

I am using Saku for florals - she's been AWESOME! :)  She responds quickly and is so helpful in helping with budget-saving ideas!  She is providing my gazebo for the ceremony (it's pretty basic though, not as nice as the one Becks had at her wedding - see her pictures in the previous posts) as well as aisle flowers, centerpieces, and bouquets!

For hair and makeup, I booked the person Allibe suggested: Alexandro Zavala.  I have a lot of bridesmaids doing hair and makeup and he offered me a 15% discount when we put together my package pricing!  He is also really great at responding!  Allibe initially recommended Fernando, but he never responded to my emails so I said forget it.  I enjoy the peace of mind of getting responses when I need it.  He was also more expensive than Alex since Alex offered me a discount.

For videography, I hired Marco Cossu - he was also suggested by Allibe.  His prices are way more affordable than mediamorfosis.  From the few videos I've seen of his, he does a pretty good job at editing.  For the price I'm paying though, I really can't complain! :)  He's also supplying us with a screen and projector, so that we can show a video montage during dinner.

Let me know if you need any more info!

Do you have Alex's contact information? I'm trying to find someone who will be able to do all the hair but not the make-up.

For Marco, his contact info is [email protected].  Examples of his work can be seen here: www.vimeo.com/16372447 and www.vimeo.com/16377435.

For Alex, his contact info is [email protected].  Here is his website: http://www.alexandromakeup.com/.  He can definitely do hair and not makeup.  A couple of my bridesmaids are only doing hair.

Hi Amy, I'm not sure if you heard any more on the bamboo style aisle runner but in speaking with Saku she gave me the option of either a fabric runner or the bamboo runner, which leads me to believe that she does indeed have one now!!

Have any of you ladies thought about how you will have your receptions set up? I'm contemplating rectangular tables or round tables, sweetheart table or not...so many choices! :)

Since I posted I've been emailing a lot with Saku from flores boda cancun (Latin asia flowers) and she has been GREAT!  I have sent her pictures of what I'm looking for, she has given me money saving tips and advice, and given me quotes.  She is the florist Allibe recommended!

I have also been emailing with gamanteles... for chair quotes.  I speak spanish so no communication break down.  They have also been relatively good at getting back to me.

I have been thinking about an aisle runner and scouring the internet for a roll of seagrass or some kind of woven one piece mat.  I see most people use those individual mats that the resort provides, but I dont like the look.  This is kind of what I'm looking for (the company is from australia and doesn't ship).  But i found a solution.  I think I'm going to order a custom rug in seagrass and use it as my aisle runner from http://www.naturalarearugs.com/customsizes ... If anyone is interested I can keep you updated on what I do, and maybe we could share the price (its not very expensive) if your wedding is after 3/30/12.  I'd have to talk to Luis to see if I could ship it to H3R.

Has anyone booked live music?

What do you do for place cards, menu cards, etc .....print them at home and bring them down?

We are about to buy the tan suits today!  We found Michael Kors suits in a sand color for $123 from macys on clearance (originally $475!).  and shockingly they have all 6 sizes we need!  So yup a practical groomsmen gift... a new suit!  (I did the same for the bridesmaids, and bought their dresses for them as their gift an nice gesture to thank them and recognize flying and staying at H3R for the wedding will not be cheap)... total cost of $1500 for both girls and guys, but I think worth it.

Hey!

Yea she sent me the picture of the one she has.  Its a darker bamboo and doesn't really match my decor, so I asked her if she was getting a lighter one.  The light bamboo is the one she said she might be getting soon, so well see!

Cant wait to go in October!  I feel like there isnt much more to do until then... but book appointments to meet with people

Hello Ladies,

This thread is so helpful.  Thanks to all of you that have contributed and congratulations.  I just got engaged a few weeks ago.  We want to get married at Tres Rios too.  It looks beautiful.  I'm still trying to get the contract signed.  It has been a slow process to get information from their wedding coordinator.  But at least I already knew this would happen from other ladies that have posted to this thread.  How is everyone's wedding planning going?

Very exciting.  I would love to hear all about it too.  Let us know what food you decide on.  The sample menu sounds very good.  Happy planning.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
