Hacienda Tres Rios Brides Post Here!

Recommended Posts

The only issue we had with bugs was when we were kayaking in the mangroves. Those mosquitoes are the size of squirrels!!! Granted, we went at 4pm and didn't bring insect repellent...but one of my bites actually bruised. I definitely plan to provide bug spray for my guests!!

No bugs in the room though and we were on the first floor.

I think you've probably posted before, but who are you all using? I remember Becks naming someone a while back. Has anyone else booked yet? At first I was thinking, wow, why spend the money to bring your own, but it's starting to seem more and more worth it. Assuming you pay for 3 nights stay and flights, that's only about $1000 for travel. I guess it would depend what they would charge for the weekend...
I'm sorry we didnt fit your budget...

What I can recommend to you is to keep the photography choice to someone who is in Mexico. There are SO many options at all different price points and you likely don't have to pay for travel!

Key is, I use to live in Atlanta. I traveled everywhere to shoot. Travel is hard, taxing and expensive. We traveled in pairs of 2, so it would cost me about $2k to get to the riviera maya, 2-3 nights in an all inclusive hotel, plus transfers, etc... why not invest that into your photo package?

Good luck with your efforts and sorry again we didnt fit the budget..

saludos,
mateo

Thanks to everyone for posting your photographer info again... Still researching, we'll see how it pans out. And thanks Matt for the advice, I would have LOVED to have had you guys, your work is just beautiful, and really unique.

We're in the process of moving right now so my posts might be few and far between.. But, I hope to soon find out about bugs and get a site visit scheduled in the next few months depending on how fast we settle in. Will let you all know :)

Hey Becks.. since you were at the resort and know the bug situation.. Do you know if you can use any kind of bug spray/ sun screen? Or if it has to be ecological or natural? I know with the resort being ecological friendly, I was thinking it had to be a certain kind of sun screen and bug spray.
Let me know.. so, then I can plan to put in my guest bags!
Thanks!

I definitely remember reading somewhere that biodegradable sunscreen and bug spray is required, but it was never mentioned to us when we were at the resort. We kayaked and swam in the river with normal sunscreen on and when the guide asked if we brought repellent, he didn't specify what kind. I think you would probably be fine either way.

They tell you to buy the biodegradable bug spray, but on every outdoor activity we went on they had a little bottle to offer to us to use. Of course my FI thinks he his immune to bug bites and refused to put any on at all. Surprisingly he only got 1 or 2 bites.

Hi girls!

I just wanted to check in to see how everyone's planning is going. This week I sent out a long email update to our guests telling them exactly how to book. So far we've already had a few people book flights and a few ppl talk about contacting the TA...so that's definitely encouraging.

I've also started to contact florists and FI and I have been discussing passport invites.

How are things going for youhuh.gif

I'm a little frustrated. The bank had problems wiring the deposit so I arranged with Allibe to pay by credit card. She emailed me back to say she would process the charge....but since then I haven't heard a thing! I emailed her again to ask what the next step is (on Tuesday) but still haven't heard a thing!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
