Has anyone had the free wedding? I emailed the wedding coordinator and asked if the ministers/Justice of the peace fee is included (we are doing a symbolic ceremony). She answered one of my questions but did not asnwer my question about the fee. I emailed her about it again last week but have not recieved a reply yet.

She might not have answered you because it says right on the website that this is included with the free wedding package. Might be a little rude, but that's probably why. But to answer your question, the package includes a non-denominational Christian Minister, or a Justice of the Peace.

We want to get married at this hotel only because the chapel is so gorgeous. Unfortunately, they only conduct catholic services there, and so I will have to check with our pastor here for a note to get married there. I just heard from Susanna, the WC for Real resorts, and I have a bunch of info if anyone wants to send me a message to forward. but most of the info is online. Also there is another thread here with a bride's experience on her visit to the site for her 2010 wedding later this year (she posted her own pics in that thread). didn't sound promising, but only because she got a bad WC, and I heard a WC named Kimberly is good (from that same thread). I will post more info as I get it.

Kimberly WAS good but she is not longer with Real Resorts. =( She was my WC and now I am in the waiting process to get a new one. So far everything has been going smoothly (we are getting married there on Aug 7) but they have added some new fees. For weddings 4pm or later there is a $400 surcharge. Also, it is $350 for any offsite vendors.

I have put in my deposit for The Royal Cancun also...let me just say that the communication from the WC is very very bad and slow. I have sooo many questions regard to the wedding that are not answered. I requested to schedule a site visit and they got back to me 4 weeks later...I can see this is going to be a lonng planning process. So, do you girls know if they work with you on setting the reception dinner tables? Like coordinating the colors and theme?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
