Real Gran Caribe Cancun wedding in 2010!

Recommended Posts

I have now been working with Rebekah, and she has been on the ball with getting back to me asap. I think that all of the Wedding Coordinators are based out of Michigan. I was told that they do all the work until about month from the wedding date and then your information is transfered to the resort coordinators...Just thought I would update! Also, if you are thinking about doing your centerpiece make sure you are bringing everything. I was going to go that route because I do not like any that they offer, but I needed to at least rent the glass hurricanes from them and they couldn't get me the measurements that I need. So, I decided to go with one of their centerpieces offered but I am going to tweak it a bit to fit my style.

We are planning to stay at The Royal Cancun....it is AMAZING. We stayed there in 2007 and fell in love.

I want to wear high heels so I thought we'd do the Gazebo there....BUT....maybe we'll go next door to Gran Caribe? I don't know what thier gazebo looks like.

do you guys?

I'd love beach ceremony but don't want to go barefoot....

Shooting for October 4 2010. My WC is Aja and she finally got back to me. Took a few emails though :)

I posted a new thread wanting to see wedding pics in the GAZEBO at The Royal Cancun or Gran Caribe Real next door. Anyone here have them?

Are you all doing the Chapel for ceremony? (it's friggin gorgeous, but neither of us are Catholic, so we are going with beach or gazebo)

If anyone is doing the Gazebo at Gran Caribe or The Royal, lemme know and share any pics (real wedding photog pics) if you have them please :)

I'm getting married in the Royal gazebo in November. I don't have pictures though. They both look much the same but the Gran Caribe one is larger. It also is located right off of a terrace area where your cocktail hour can be set up afterwards. The Royal is right off the pool and there is no space outside of it for drink setup or for guests to be seated.

I have searched all over the place for weddings in this particular chapel but no luck. The standard decor is white chair covers and lacy gauze stuff for the gazebo or wherever you decide to get married as well as a floral centerpiece and red carpet for the aisle. Beyond that, everything is extra. Table linens are $12 a piece to rent and napkins are $1 a piece... I forget what colored chair ribbons are, but I think it was around $5 a chair.

The coordinator at Gran Caribe Real quoted me $300 to have a quick rehearsal the day before the wedding, which I think is a little steep. I'm already paying for the Luxury Package. I am thinking about just going to the Gazebo with my bridal party the morning before and letting the kids practice walking down without the coordinator to avoid this fee. I wonder why you were quoted $200:) I am curious what others have done about a rehearsal?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
