Oh My God.... i am sitting here freaking out for all of you... Little nervous myself thinking that would just be brutal if it happened to us. I have my fingers crossed that this works out for all of you.

You already had to change your date once before? That sucks SO bad...I'm so sorry for you. I just sent this to my TA with "tell me this won't happen to me!" in the subject. Like someone said before, everything happens for a reason! It really sucks now but hopefully everything will turn out even better than you imagined!

I am an emotional mess and burst out in tears the moment anyone metions my wedding.

I've just been informed that now I get the bottom of the barrel selection for a ceremony time and date because of my "so called" late booking. So we get married in Punta Cana now the day before we leave. I am a hair away from cancelling the entire thing. I just can't deal with it.

Could you have a symbolic wedding or have the WC perform the ceremony and then the judge comes later to sign the paperwork? That may give you a bit more leeway for dates/times?? That's what we might do as the judge for us can't get to the hotel until after 6:00, which it will be dark by then.... just an idea confused.gif

Do they cancel the trip entirely or just find you another flight?

I have a thought...

Does Air Transat refund your money to your travel agent so you are able to use that money with another company...like Westjet?

If you look at the WJ website...there is an awesome seat sale right now if you just did the flights. It would be about $732.00 round trip including taxes (for the flight). The website just doesn't say how many seats it has available. This is using your dates (Nov 3-10) and from Calgary to Puerto Plata.

Also...I'm SURE that if you contacted the RIU...and asked them what your best option was for a room rate...they would give you a sweet deal because you're already booked. If they refused...they would simply lose your business because you would have no choice but to go to Punta Cana. Personally, I think they would be silly to not give you a kicka** deal.

How does that sound? Like alot of work...but at least you would get to keep your dates and location.

Just a suggestion :)

Hope is all works out...

Wow. This is crazy! Like some of the others have said...don't cancel!! You have put way too much time and love into the planning. Getting married the day before you leave totally sucks, but I'm positive it will still be way more beautiful and memorable than cancelling and re-doing everything to have a local wedding...

We are all crossing our fingers for you...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
