Book at AI but then hire separate coordinator?

Recommended Posts

Advice: We are thinking of booking the location of our wedding at Dreams Cabo San Lucas; going with the "free" wedding package and then hiring a separate DW Coordinator to handle everything else, i.e. decorations, photography, music, makeup etc etc.

Has anyone done it this way? If so, was it worth it or a hassle?

On the other hand, if anyone did everything through the AI -- were you satisfied with the vendors they provided?

Also -- is it worth it to get the biggest and most expensive package? Or better to go with the "free" on and just add on?

Thanks!!!!!

welcome nancy...dreams has some of the best resort wedding coordinators so you may want to just start with them to see if that is sufficient and if not, hire an outside WC...there are many dreams cabo brides on here (i am one of them) and reviews so we really do have a ton of dreams cabo, vendor, pricing info on the forum..

my review is in my sig...other dreams cabo reviews:

Tammy offered some great advice about Dreams Wedding Planners. I have worked with Yarai, Yesica and Marianna the Dreams WP's and they are some of the best hotel WP's in Cabo. I always feel they have the clients best interest in mind. If you feel you need an 'outside' WP there are many fantastic ones doing great work here in Cabo.

I am getting married at Dreams Cabo in just a few weeks. I have only worked with the onsite coordinatiors and they have been GREAT. I have to admit that when my wedding was several months away, emails were slower responded to, but they were always answered. As the time grew near for my wedding, the response time picked up and so did my confidence with choosing to use the onsite coordinators. I wouldn't waste the money on hiring someone to do the job that is included with the "free" package. I was able to choose the vendors that I wanted and I am confident that my wedding will be beautiful.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
