I can't believe we have just over 6 months left! It's going to go by so fast now. smile29.gif

Okay, I just got a bunch of stuff checked off my list so here goes:

Done

  • Found travel agent, booked resort and my vacation, reserved spots for guests
  • Dress and veil purchased and in my closet
  • Invitation order has been sent to the printer
  • website is finished and passed around to everyone who is invited (didn't do STDs, bad I know)
  • rings bought and paid for- mine is sized and ready, FI's still being sized
  • Photographer is booked, and I've found someone to share with which is awesome!
  • Just booked my tickets back home to Nova Scotia (going there for a week and a half before the wedding and flying to Cuba from there)
Still need
  • Shoes!
  • FI's suit, he wants to wait until we get home and just get one off the rack- he's almost a perfect match to the off the rack suits though, so should be fine. Ditto his shoes.
  • To book a final fitting with someone back home for the week before the wedding.
  • To find one more person to share our photographer
  • To purchase travel mugs for favours once I get the final guest count

I forgot to mention that the veil has been purchased.

To dos:
- shoes - hopefully bought while in NY later this month
- wedding rings
- pick out wedding invitations and working so that they can be ordered

It seems that you do a lot at the beginning and then you feel that you are missing something.
We are continuing to pick out pictures as we are thinking of doing a scrapbook for the guest book. Haven't found the scrapbook yet. Looking for something tropical but so far nothing.
Also, since the bridesmaid dresses are a tangarine colour, was thinking that I would wait until after Halloween and perhaps there may be some orange coloured candles that go on sale as I would like to get some for the centrepieces.

Wow! It's crazy how my 20-month engagement is now down to the last six!!!

Ok, here is what I've got crossed off my list so far:

- resort & wedding package picked, vacation booked

- honeymoon booked

- wedding website up and running

- STD's sent out (20 booked)

- photographer (including flight & accomodation) booked

- dress & veil bought & ordered

- FI's outfit bought

- bridesmaids dresses & groomsmen's outfits purchased

- OOT bags bought

- OOT items bought except for 2 items

- DIY templates & designs completed (for OOT bag contents)

- paper lanterns bought for the reception

- found our rings and ordering next month

- bought bridesmaids' and MOH's gifts

What's left:

- need to find shoes

- need to find flower girl dresses

- finalizing centrepieces

- make up ipod playlist

- book our catholic wedding back home (I know, I'm kinda pushing it now, but just haven't gotten around to it)

- still deciding whether I should go with the fresh flowers for the bouquets & bouttonnieres at the resort or order/DIY them...so on the fence on this one

- send out invitations (friend owns her own business and is making them for me)

- make welcome books

- make pre-travel brouchure & package

I think that's it for now...I'm sure I'm okay with the major stuff. What's holding me back is the number of DIY's I keep adding on my list (thanks to the forum haha). Anyways, it's nice to know that there's a number of us here on the exact same boat. Happy planning, ladies!

OMG... only 6 months to go and I have done almost NOTHING.

That is absolutely terrifying...

What I have done:

*Made templates for our invitations - so I can just plug the correct info into them.

*Bought a dress - waiting for it to arrive

*Emailed resort requesting a quote and trying to book - HASN"T HAPPENED YET.

What I haven't done:

* Haven't confirmed ANYTHING. Oh sh*t.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
