We have our reservations made, STD's mailed out, website updated with all the travel info for guests, photographer booked, and that's about it.

I haven't even went to look at dresses yet. I keep putting it off because I feel so fat right now, and my goal is to drop 50 lbs before the wedding - but right now I know I'm not going to like how I look in anything. And then I need to actually change into different dresses with a dressing attendant in the changing room with me?! Uggggg - so I keep putting it off, but I know I need to just do it and worry about alterations later.
Wow! We are at EXACTLY the same point! Literally, we made our reservations, I just mailed out the STDs last week, made our website with all the applicable info, and have our photog. Also, I am procrastinating trying on dresses cause I want to lose some lbs before then. AND, I'm getting married in Negril, Jamaica too! How funny. I'm glad I stumbled on this thread and found my BDW twin!!

Yay for finding my BDW twin!! That's too funny that we're at the exact same stages of planning. I see you're getting married at Moondance!! Cliffs or Villas? I was looking at Moondance Cliffs but they didn't have any availibility on my date sad.gif It's really a beautiful resort. Out of everywhere we looked it was definitely my parents first pick. I'm sure you're going to have an amazing time!

I am hoping to be a May 2010 bride.. but I have still not found a destination yet. It is so frustrating emailing all these places and not getting a response. I am hoping for either Cabo, Mayan or Punta Cana.

I hope I can post my location soon!!!

Yea, you have to remember that they are on "island time" and they don't always feel the urgency the same way we do. Have you thought about going through a travel agent? There are some really great ones that specialize in destination weddings and can provide tons of information.

We're getting married at Moondance Villas and renting out all 6 villas, but half of our guests are staying at MD Cliffs. We went in December to scope out Negril and fell in love with the Moondance people. Both of the resorts are GORGEOUS! I can't wait to get back there!

So, BDW Twin, are you going to join in the biggest loser 7 contest here? Maybe if we both do it, we can be BL Buddies. What do ya think?

I didn't even know they were doing a season 7 yet - but then again I haven't really been looking at the diet threads too much yet. I'm definitely in!! I'm hoping that if I have to be held accountable to someone, that may help motivate me. FI isn't too much of a help, I mean it's wonderful because he loves me just the way I am (he propsed when I was at my heaviest), but it's hard to stay on track when he's making homemade alfredo sauce and wants to go out for ice cream! And if I complain he just tells me not to worry about it and I look beautiful the way I am - ugggg! And it's easy for him to say when he can eat almost anything and not gain weight. Sorry - got a little off topic there, but yes, I'm in!! I'll have to go look for the season 7 thread and check it out.

I don't think they have officially stared Season 7 yet, but I think it's in the works. But I know exactly what you mean about the FI and food. Although mine is sweet and instead of telling me I need to lose weight, he asks me if I want to work out with him so we can spend more time together. I know what he's telling me, but it's great that he doesn't actually say it. :-) BUT he can eat and eat and eat.... and EAT and not gain any weight. He's still got a bunch of muscle from his football days, so his metabolism is really high. And when he eats poorly it makes me want to do the same. But, the wedding is 10 months away, so no more of that!

Well I'm definitely in for BL season 7 if they get it going. My FMIL sent us copies of pictures she took a couple weeks ago when we were visiting them out in MI, and omg, do I look huge. It had to be one of the most unflattering pictures I have seen of myself in a long time. I was staring at it, and I just kept thinking that I don't want a whole wedding photo album full of pics like this!!! I am certainly not paying a photographer a crapload of money just so I can feel bad about myself when I look at the pics. I have the pic in my purse and anytime I feel like eating or snacking I'm just going to pull out that pic to keep the willpower going :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
