Jstar - That is great news

JT3 - I am lying =) Or if we have to claim some I am separating the sum to have other family members hold traveler's checks (cause they can be tracked) but other than that - just lying =)

The weddingmares have begun with me too! I am stressed about one or two things. We were going to have stuff shipped to Italy in advance but it was way too expensive. We decided not to do OOT bags but pre-travel packages b/c of it...kinda bummed out about it but I must move on.

Good luck to everyone carrying or shipping OOT items.

thope - I'm not shipping a single item, I have 6 suitcases I'm hauling down with me. Search the forum and you'll find all the horror stories of things not making it and customs seizing and burning items so I just don't think it's a good idea at all.

I'm not using a wedding coordinator so I can't help you there, I'm sure there are some down there.

JT3 - I think I'm gonna put zero, I have no intention of selling anything and it's just supplies for a wedding that I'm not even bringing back with me. I doubt it will matter, anything NOT to raise a red flag! HAHA!

I am having wedding nightmares as well.. I have no clue what else I have to do or get eeee.... LOL

Ladies I have a question for all of you.. Do you guys know that we will have to fill out customs card but are you ladies stating how much you are really bringing.... I usually put zero dollars but should we put morehuh.gif?

Good question! I had planned on bringing receipts (even made up ones) for the OOT stuff & tealight holders we're bringing just in case we get stopped, but I didn't consider declaring anything. I'm guessing I'll write "0" too, since, like kittenheart pointed out, we're not selling anything.
I found this link that talks about customs in Mexico
Mexico Travel - Entering Mexico - Government of Mexico

I'll consider myself lucky - no weddingmares yet. I'm in school so my nightmares are limited to projects & clinicals so far. I'll bet they'll creep in as we get closer tho.

I'm also starting to have the weddingmares!! I dreamed that the beach was eroded so badly that we couldn't have our reception on it and that the wind was so bad that my veil was doing the "helicopter" in all of my pictures and in the way. It was cloudy, rainy, and just nasty. Oh yeah, and the groom and his groomsmen were wasted drunk. Also, dreamed that nothing was organized and I ran out of time to do a welcome letter for my guests so nobody knew what was going on or where to go for the wedding. That was all in one dream! Talk about waking up in a sweat!!!

If it makes you feel any better i had a dream of this girl i used to know showing up at my wedding and throwing tiny rocks at me while i walked down the aisle. I guess it was for not inviting her! BRUTAL EH! hahaha i laughed but what a ridiculous dream. Ohhh the stress of the last two months!

I dreamed that I went to meet the wedding coordinators but they weren't at the resort, they were in the city and I had to take a train there, for some reason I went alone. And let me tell you, if Mexico looked like it did in my dream I would not be going! I went to the building where the wedding coordinators were, and tried to find their office but couldn't and I was getting harassed by all these drunk homeless people, and then got shot at by some gangster.. lol.. so I decided to leave but couldn't find the train back to the resort and no one would help me find it. Everyone was so mean! lol. I woke up panicked...

I had a dream that my wedding was all of a sudden in this giant house in LA. There were over 200 people there but all my accommodations were set up for 40 since that's the number coming to my Mexico wedding. I couldn't find my real dress so I ended up wearing my TTD dress which didn't fit and was falling off. I forgot my veil and my garter and my shoes. About to walk down the aisle I start crying because I didn't finish the ceremony or write my vows so the officiant had nothing to read. I ran down the aisle in this extremely crowed room in tears holding up my dress falling off of me telling FI we can't get married without vows... I found my mom watching tv upstairs with a friend while this whole thing went down and woke this this morning to LOUD thunder. Ugh!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
