What's the next step I can start on?
I have ordered my dress
Bought my veil
Bought BM dresses
Sent STD's
Working on invitations
Booked hotel
We're going on the weekend to look for FI & GM attire.

What else is there? It seems like everything's done at the resort. Should I start working on OOT bags.... I kind of now wish there was more to plan with a DW.
Well you do have a lot of time, but if you really want to keep planning here are some ideas (there's a lot):
-Do you have an idea of where you want the wedding? Will it be on the beach or in a gazebo, etc? Have you seen pictures of the set-ups?
-Will you be adding decorations or just using what they provide?
-You could work on a play list for your dinner/reception (are you having a DJ?) Are you & FI having a 1st dance?
-What about the menu? You could have your resort send you options.
-Do you have a photographer?
-Have you picked out types of flowers/bouquets you'd like? (maybe make an inspiration board to bring to show your WC at the resort)
-Are you planning on having favors at the wedding or place cards?
-What about a cake topper?
-Are you giving gifts to your bridesmaids/groomsmen? What about for your/his parents?
-Your shoes, jewelry & hairstyle (if you're having your hair done maybe find pics of how you'd like it done so you can bring those with you).
-Do you guys want to plan an excursion or welcome party for everyone?
-Have you looked into buying wedding bands? I know that's something we felt really relieved about after buying them.
-Have you booked your airfare?
-You could def start on the OOT bags so you don't have to buy everything at once. Have you found bags that you like? If not search around so that when you have a final count you can just go ahead & get them. I only have a rough estimate of the # of people coming but started to buy things like mini sunscreens, advil & emergen-c packets, chapstick & some water guns.

ok, I think that's enough!

Wow Karen! Those suggestions are great.

I always feel like I am not doing enough because it does seem so easy (maybe that's a foot in my mouth for later).

Is anyone else finding it difficult to just LET GO sometimes and trust that it will work out when you get there (like, with flowers if you are using the resort flowers?). I find it tough even though there are many, many people who have been through this and almost all say "it all works out and the WC's have it organized when you get there"

At first i want all the info and all my question answered now from the WC and want to plan everything right away but the past couple of months i decided to just let it go, well i got the big items out of the way, but all the small stuff can really be dealt with a month or two or even when we get there. so just remember the WCs do this all the time and we decided to do a DW for less stress.

Yes, I suppose this is true! Except...small confession...I actually got really turned on by the idea of a DW when FI and I were talking about where to put all of his family that don't get along so well! hehe. problem solved. big resort!

Hi there! May 8, 2010 bride here! We are getting married at Beaches in Turks & Caicos. I am so excited! We got engaged July 2008, booked our trip in Sept 2008 & sent out save the dates in January 2009. Our invitations are going out in February 2010. So far we have about 15-20 family/friends coming with us. I have purchased MIB invitations that are awesome! I will post pics here later. We haven't done too much more since we have just bought a house we are remodeling. Anyone else getting married same day/place?

Chrissy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
