Well ladies I got really sick this week and it seems I missed a whole bunch lol...

Finley- Thanks for the shout out... Good luck on your wedding I bet it will be great I can wait to come back and read your review.

Diana- I love your hairstyle it looks great... That is so great that the person that is doing your hair is going with you. That is one less stress.

About the name thing... I am hyphenating, i just love my last name to much lol...

hope you're feeling better JT!! I know, I'm not ready to part w/ my name so I'm ignoring this whole situation until I'm forced to deal with it, like in a year & a half when we move back to Chicago.

Amymarie - crap! I hope your hair calms down and they get it right next time!! It'll work out!

Amy & Di, I have it easy with the line-up. I didn't appoint a MOH cuz I have 2 best friends and a super close sister-in-law standing up with me. Two of the couples are married couples so by default my 3rd BM becomes 'MOH' & stands up with Paul's brother (best man). But, you could just go by height or whether they know eachother or not.

And Amy, I think a card will be really nice & the moms will be so touched you thought of them! Maybe you guys could do a special toast to the moms at brunch too. We have some anniversaries & birthdays the day before and day of our wedding and I bought them all cards. No gifts, but people like to be remembered :)

About the last name thing- I think I am going to switch my last name, but I was definately torn over it for awhile. I thought about hyphenating it but then it would be like 17 letters long and I really don't want to be writing that out all the time. I wasn't the biggest fan of his last name for the longest time because it's so unusual (it's Funkhauser) and my last name was so common. After talking about it with him though, I realized it meant a lot to him for us to have the same last name so I am starting to warm up to the idea.

Welcome MDLady, I just noticed that we're getting married on the same date!

I feel your pain JT! I got a wicked head cold this week (probably shouldn't have gone skiing on Monday with a sore throat...ah well, had a great time!) and missed 2 days of work. I was tempted to stay home all week just so I'd feel 100% for my stagette tomorrow!

Karen, my line-up is pretty easy too. My sister and FI's bro are MOH and BM so that was a given, then a married couple, a brother/sister combo and then the "spares". :)

As for last names, I love my last name and getting "hey, are you related to..." I have a large extended family and we all grew up in the same city so it's pretty well known. But FI and I have been dating for a VERY long time and I've been practicing my new signature since I was 16 years old so "Mrs. Robinson" doesn't feel so strange <---oh yeah, put that in the "con" column! Guaranteed that that song will break out during the reception.

Yay, my bridal shop just called and said my dress arrived today. I was worried about the volcano messing up the shipments so I have been pretty stressed. I obviously don't have any time for a delay. I have an appointment with the alterations person on Monday. Now lets just hope she can take it in fast enough (I lost 20 lbs since I orderd it).

JT - Hope you're feeling better!

Karen - You got cards for people already? So sweet! :)

I know I'll most likely end up caving if he pushes me, I just love being able to buy clothes with my last name on it :)

Amanda - how exciting for your dress! Show us pictures when you get it! :)

Yeah, I was at Target a couple weeks ago & they had really cute hand-made looking cards.

Amanda - 20 pounds! That seamstress has her work cut out for her (no pun intended) wink.gif Seriously, that's a lot of weight - congrats to you!

Everyone - push the vitamin C and get lots of rest! No sickness allowed!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
