i bought two dresses as possibilities for my AHR from sacks off 5th ave. they're both super cute but very different looks. i might try to decide which i'm going to wear for my AHR and wear the other. otherwise, i saw a few really cute dresses at macy's today on my lunch hour... hhmmmmm!

Thanks Shannon!! I hope you have a great & beautiful day and lovely honeymoon! Take lots of pictures and just enjoy yourselves. I can't believe how quickly this has gotten here!

As for name changes...it is definitely a personal decision...me (like dianep) still has my ex husbands last name so I am thrilled to get rid of it, ha! I thought about going back to my maiden name but my FI's last name is easy and short. We just had a friend in CA get married last weekend & he took his wifes last name...omg you should have heard my FI rant over that one, I just laughed at him.

Jenny, I hope your interview goes great & you get some very (even more exciting) exciting news when you arrive home! Good luck moving your case.

Karen, I wish nursing would change as well...sometimes we are our worst enemies in our profession and now there are so few people going into nursing schools it is scary. (soapbox...sorry!)

Amanda, what tanning lotion do you use? I saw someone post Jergens...I have skinceuticals which was recommended by my dermatologist for my extremely sensitive skin and she lectured me about getting burnt but knows exactly where I am going, ha! I used to do tanning beds years ago, plus all the laying out has done so much damage to my skin, now I use suntan lotion all the time and limit my time in the sun.

Again, congrats to everyone! Next week I am not sure how much I will be on since I am traveling for work but I wish you all the best & can't wait to share how everything went!

Woo Hoo Shannon! Have a great weekend and I hope your wedding & honeymoon are just perfect!!

back to the name change thing (briefly) - I know, it's really no one's business what we do! So why does everyone have an opinion and why the heck are people so verbal about it? Amy, I don't think you're being weak at all! I really feel similarly to you so that's why I was so upset. While I don't hate his last name, I'd like to keep mine for my profession and just want to be able to choose when I want to change it (kids or just later) w/o being strong-armed. Whatever. It's done now so I'm of the mindset 'if I ignore it it'll go away' sort of thing. :P

Sita, sounds like it'll be a great paper! Such a high-risk age group and I'm guessing there's lots of good research out there (drugs, STI's & other high-risk behavior).

I'm skipping the whole bach party so I get to avoid this latest stressor. We'll have a girls night out in PV, but I'll probably just wear a sun dress. I have no doubt you girls will find adorable outfits to wear! Good luck on the hunt!

Oh, & there's still a lot of work left on my dress. Made several changes from the original & it's gonna need a lot of her time so I have to go back around the 11th.

Thanks again chicas! you all are the bestest! Hooray for our May girls! grouphug.gif

Thanks for the shout-out Shannon! I can't believe you leave so soon! I joined this thread like 8 months ago and I can't believe it's time for some us to leave already!

I have my stagette (as us Canadian gals call it) this Saturday. I have NO IDEA what's going on! My bridesmaids finally told me to be ready to be picked up by 2:30 PM and when I asked what I should wear they said "do you have black spandex shorts?" OH GOD. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
