May 2010 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Hey girls! I know, finally some nice weather; hopefully we'll get to keep it for a while.

Shannon, I like the new pic! The chapel looks really bright & beautiful!

And Amy, those shades are awesome!! They'll be so fun in pics!

Welcome dianep! We have a great bunch of girls on this thread! What was your victory in? :)

I spent all day running around trying to get stuff to make invites for my friend's shower. It took forever! Then I missed the UPS guy delivering the envelopes & backings for the invites. ugh. The shower is 5/1 & I really wanted these to go out this weekend, but now I won't get the stuff to finish making them until Monday cuz we'll be out of town all weekend. So frustrated right now. Kinda funny though that it's not my wedding stressing me out.

Just to vent a little ,... Dont you guys wish there were more actual weddign stores. That we can actually se and feel what we are purchasing... I am trying to purchase small favor boxes in grey. It is becoming fustrating i just want to go to a store(not pay an arm and a leg) see it love it and buy it... Online shopping is great but really sucks at the same time... Sorry ladies for my rant...

JT, have you tried Michael's? I was just there yesterday (Columbus & like 97ish) and they have a wedding section. There's a couple aisles and I remember seeing favor things; not sure about small gray boxes specifically but it's worth a shot.

The other place worth checking out is Paper Presentation. They have a ton of stuff! Here's the web link with a bunch of favor boxes (each has a ton of colors) but they're on 18th btwn 6th & 5th (around the corner from BB,Beyond & Old Navy). I'm guessing the selection in the store will be more limited, but you might find something there.

So here's some more of my crafty crap. :P

I mentioned before, but I made a sign to post at the edge of the ceremony and we'll have a straw mat to leave shoes on. My painting ability isn't great, but it'll do.

Karen - Thanks for the compliment on my shades! They are for the OOT bags but I've been wearing those pink ones all week wink.gif

It's funny, last week I was preparing stuff for my close friends baby shower and it was majorly stressing me out because I waited until the last minute sort of but I was relieved to have a NEW topic to stress me out which felt weird :)

JT3 - I agree... I wish there were more stuff to look at in person, it would definitely cut down my internet browsing time although I am totally an internet shopper and have been able to find coupon codes/free shipping for 99% of all the stuff I purchased and I don't think I've had to return anything yet. I do have stuff to sell but that's just stuff I changed my mind on later.

Karen - Once again you amazing me with your creativity! I love the mat idea for the shoes, I had one of those in my hand at Target and was like, what can I do with this I really want it!! Couldn't figure anything out...

I just finished my first aid kits too! I am calling them Just in Case kits and have the same exact items as you except for the Tylenol, Pepto & Immodium. I think I need to add more in there. I have B1 vitamins in there as they prevent hangovers since that's one of the elements that is depleated when you drink.

I am putting together my bridesmaids pre-trip bags tonight... yes I went overboard and I'm giving them gift bags BEFORE we go with travel stuff and then big ol' beach bags full of stuff upon their arrival... no wonder why I went over my budget :)

I also just booked my Vegas Suite which is so amazing I can hardly stand it. I also just booked our Elvis Wedding ceremony which is pretty hilarious and it comes with a DVD of the ceremony!! I'm getting really excited about my Vegas wedding now, haha!

Thank you! I will DEFINITELY post pictures and do a planning/review thread of some sort. There's sure to be some shenannigans that weekend. I'm thinking about getting a party bus with an extra classy stripper pole, those always class up any ride down to the chapel, LOL!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
