May 2010 Brides!

JT3 - Wow, that's terrible! I'm not too close with my own brother, he's 6 years younger than me but totally just butt heads. I love him and I offered to buy trips for my only immediate family I have, my mom and my brother and my mom doesn't even want to go and the only comment my brother has even made about my wedding was to tell me how selfish I was having a wedding where my mother could not attend. To be blunt, screw them, they can stay home.

It took me a lot of tears to realize I'd rather not pay out for to have them there when they obviously do not care to be there and take the hit to my ego when everyone else found out no parents will be attending (father's passed away) so trust me, I know how you feel! I still would rather have them there than not but at this point, that's not an option. Good luck with everything, I really hope it smooths out with you, family drama is the worst.

Di -you've got a good point... puppies are expensive with their shots and vet bills and whatnot. I still can't wait to get one :)

Diana - congrats on the puppy YEAH!!! I hear you about the vet, I always look at the bill and say "You charged me $25 for what? and $75 for something else", and the BEST is $68 for lab processing that is done ON SITE. UGH! I hope your puppy gets healthier so your wallets get healthier ;-)

JT3 - so sorry to hear about your brother. Sometimes they are like that, they need a swift kick in the butt to say, "It not about you...it's about me, your sister" I had to do that once to my brother, but he's keeping mum now =)

KT - that's great about dance lessons, we did the same and started slacking off around the holidays. We need to get back into it. Are you doing something choreographed? Or just the basics? I love watching the You Tube videos of wedding entrances and first dances...so original!

Diana - What type of music do you likehuh.gif

We are HUGE Dave Matthews fans and we chose a song off the new album last year and now it's rated one of the top 10 this year...which really annoys me lol! The Knot just sent the email UGH!

We didn't go traditional and it ends up being popular... I guess that's our luck!

Awww oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! Well at least the dependable one is coming and it will be nice having your nephew there.

I just keep telling myself that I knew what I was getting into with a DW but I didn't imagine it would be THIS hard. Just focus on who IS going and know that you will still have an amazing time grouphug.gif

I really don't think we need dance lessons but my mostly uninvolved FI said he wanted them so I might as well take advantage of it so he feels comfortable.

Our song that we love is quite bitter/jaded with a sweet ending but fits us so well. We keep flipping back and forth between the more PC song or the one we love. Good luck picking your song!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
