May 2010 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Cara- Ours was booked through Transat, so I am not sure about Signature. My TA had said that flight times wouldn't be released for another few weeks for that late in May. I'm assuming yours would be the same. Have you checked with your TA? I know you have been concerned about this for a while.

We are hoping to go with WestJet vacations now, and I can't believe how much lower the prices are. We are also able to get all of our deposits back from Transat b/c of the changes they made. My TA had cound out by chance too, as the changes are still not listed on our file with Transat. It does show on the public site though, and I know Signature does too. Have you checked the Signature site to see if the dates are still listed the same? I noticed the changed showed up there for our eastern guests a couple of weeks before we found out through the group coordinator.

Hey Christina,

That's so frustrating!!! Hopefully you can get everything worked out. Do you already have your inviations printed?? That would suck to have to go back and change those with the new date. sad.gif

Our travel agent says that we should have our flight schedules in February... but I'm so worried they're not going to fly when we need them to, like the weekend before our wedding, and we'll end up leaving Calgary too close to the wedding or like yours was, the day of! I'm terrified, because I don't even know if I could switch our wedding day, because our resort is pretty booked up... Oh the stress... lol...I'm trying not to be stressed yet, and just hope for the best!

Cara- Have you checked the signature site to see if they are offering your original flight dates online still? Like I said before, the changes showed first on their site. Waaaay before the group coordinator let us know. I'm sure it will all work out!

Although it has been really stressful, and we have had to basically re-plan everything, it all seems to be working out. We were not willing to change the wedding date- too many deposits put down everywhere! Also, who's to say they won't change it again?!

I don't remember if I mentioned it before, but we are now reserved on the airline I would rather fly anyways for the same original dates. We will also be saving over $400 pp in a better room!

Cara, what dates were you supposed to leave? Anyone else on here have this problem?

Oh man, that was my worst fear. We booked with Air Canada vacations so we knew our flights WAY ahead of time, like back in September! My TA told us they are the least likely to change flight times so hopefully everything stays the way it is! That's awesome though if you can rebook for cheaper! Good luck girls!

Everything worked out for me! YAY! Same original dates, we have our flight times, and it is $500 cheaper than our original price per person. Now we seem to have an influx. of people who want to come! Eeek. Maybe I need to order some more maracas...

Only crappy thing is that we don't get any special incentives, but for that much in savings for all out guests, who cares!

How are everyones invites going? I can't believe we are in the 3 month range already.!

I'll post them for sure when they're done. The daughter of one of my mom's friends is a graphic designer who does corporate work but she used to do wedding invitations and offered to do mine. So she designed the layout, I'm printing them on photopaper, mounting them on card stock, adding a little bling and DONE!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
