Tammy, I'm not sure why only 15 minutes of cardio - maybe so you don't start burning muscle mass away? I do know that in the past when I worked with a trainer they really emphasized using weights that are heavy enough. A lot of girls think they'll bulk up but it's reall ynot true. But what is true is that you tone a lot faster if you use weights heavy enough to burtn out your muscles each time. I've always been told to alternate muscvle groups each day - i.e. upper body one day and lower body the next. But for your lower body it sounds like if you're doing squats and lunges then you could do them every day.

Rebecca, Great advice!

So I'm taking tomorrow off of work so the weekend is coming soon! I'm excitred to NOT work but not excited to resist all the delicious foods and drinks that seem to be present over the weekends!
Yeah...you explained that so much better Kash!!

Hey! Congrats on the loss!! Now shoot for another two next week, that will be 5 lbs in 2 weeks, you'll be 1/4 of the way there!!

You'll be surprised when the loss starts adding up. I started at 152 lbs and ended at 130 lbs. It's so surreal that I actually did it. I remember at 12 lbs lost, I was saying "wow, I broke the 10 lbs mark, I've never done that!".

Weekends have always been tough for me too. Just try to snack on a lot of healthy foods so it feels like you're always eating!

Rebecca you are my role model! That is exactly what I want to do! How many sizes did you go down?

I am hoping to just get down a few (to start!) so I can start trying on dresses without getting disgusted. You are right - 2 more pounds and I'm 25% there already!

Awesome job Kash- congratulations!

Day 3 for me: used only 14 out of 20 points! I was so busy at work I didn't have time to eat any more than I did.

This is what made up my 14 points:

1 Atkins Chocolate chip granola protein bar

1 South beach diet ceasar wrap (sooo yummmy, only 5 points)

1 Sugar free Jello pudding

1 sugar free jello (strawberry)

1 beef sticks (quick snack on the run)

1 Lo-Carb Monster energy drink (20 cals- I was dying last night, needed some caffeine!)

All that for only 14 points- I know I'm probably supposed to eat more than that, but I didn't have time and now I'm home and getting ready to go to bed...I don't want to eat right before I go to sleep, but for future reference, what do you girls think is better to do? Eat some more points worth of food if I'm so short, or just go to bed and not worry about it?

I didn't work out yesterday, too tired...

Sarah,

I remembered from WW that it is really bad not to eat all of your points. They stress that you need to eat no less that your alotted amount of points each day. Otherwise your body doesn't think it;s getting enough food and goes into starvation mode. When you do start eating normally again, it will store the food instead of burn it.

My trainer gets so pissed at us when we eat less than our 1200 calories. We get in big trouble.

Next time, just have a serving of nuts (almonds, cashews), whatever., a scoop of peanut butter or maybe a slice of cheese. Something high in points, that is not filling, but is good for you, to make up the extra points. In the future monitor your points through out the day and throw in an extra snack if it looks like you're going to run short.

Kash,
I went from a (tight) size 8 to a comfortable size 6. Also, keep in mind, wedding dresses run really small! the first dress (before I lost my weight) was a 10 or a 12!! The one I ended up exchanging it for was an 8.

Eating while working the way that you do is really tough.

You might want to pack some veggie snacks so you get some more nutrients. My FI would get the baby carrots and the pre-cut mixed veggies and keep those on hand so that he could kick his balance bar habit. It worked, now he doesn't even like them.

Also, I keep almonds around. I know those don't score well on WW, but I find that a small handful (less than 10) help me a lot when I'm traveling (I get hypoglycemic and I need to eat every two hours which is not easy on a plane).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
