OK, so here is our official Weight Watchers thread (Part 1). This is for people are doing WW, have done WW, or any other weight management plan! It's also a thread for all those thin ladies who exercise and eat right to give the rest of us some tips on how to avoid bad shameonyou.gif foods and behaviors!

So here are some starting questions:

1) Are you trying to lose, maintain, tone/firm or gain weight?

2) How many points (or calories, or carbs, or whatever it is you may be counting) are you aiming to eat a day?

3) How much weight do you want to lose (if you DO want to lose)?

4) When are you trying to lose by? For your wedding?

Ok, my turn! I plan to enroll in WW online this weekend- right now just trying to get the STD's in the mail!

1) Lose, lose, lose!

2) Whatever it takes to do #1, I'll post after I sign up...

3) 25 lbs would be ideal, 15-20 is more realistic!

4) Definitely by my wedding 5-7-07, 7 months away. Sooo, I figure if I lose 3 lbs per month, I can do it!

OK, so today I went anmd signed up for WW and I am really excited about it! There are two plans available:

1) "Flex Points" where you are given a certain number of "points" you can eat based on your current weight (the more you weigh the more food your body needs to run!) and you can eat anything in the world - you just have to count every bite! What I do like is that you also get an extra 35 "points" to use during the week so if you have a craving for a cookie or a run and diet coke you can count it there without having to starve yourself before/after.

2) The second option is called the "Core Program" - this is a specific list of foods that you can basically eat to your heart's content. There a a few items which are restricted to like one time a day (i.e. you can choose ONE of these items to eat once a day: whole wheat pasta, potato, whole wheat bread).

And you can even switch back and forth (one week on one and one week on another) based on what kind of plans you have that week.

I recommend the Flex Program. Portions are very important. So you you are like me and can't stop eating when it tastes good, go for the Flex program. Plus you can eat anything.

Should we start a WW Folder for recipes and tips? If someone wants to start it, I can fill it with all sorts of tips, low points foods and tricks that helped me keep it interesting.

1) I am tryin to Tone/Firm. My arms specifically
2) Did WW to lose. I am now counting calories...1200 a day to maintain.
3) I don't want to lose anymore weight, but do want to trim down my waist a bit.
4) 29 days!!!!! OMG?!?!

rebecca, that is so exciting! we should definitely start a folder - I'll send Tammy a PM so she can put one up (I don't know how to). Are you doing any exercises for your arms? I find that free weights working your shoulders, biceps & triceps can really show some results pretty quickly...

Hi Kash,

Yes, I am doing a lot of push up and freeweights. Shoulders, chest, triceps and biceps. I'm also trying to do a lot of quats for my booty. :)

I am seeing my personal trainer 3 times a week until my wedding. So I just need to squeeze in an additional workout or two on my own.

I always blow my eating on the weekends though! It's is so hard for me to stay on a program when I'm at home!!

I'm alittle concerned when I get to Cabo too. We will be there 4 days before the wedding. I am going to have to be really good eating & drinking for 4 days in a hotel. That's hard! I can't get bloated or my dress won't fit.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
