When me and my FI went to our DR we discovered that I already had my Hep B vacination (from gr. 7) so I only need to be vacinated for Hep A. My FI needed both A & B so he was given the Twinrix shot. My DR also suggested that we take Dukarol for diarrhea - good advice! Another interesting thing my DR told us was to stay away from needles, tattoos and piercing. Needles can contain Hep C and we are not vaccinated for Hep C. He convinced us to pass on the legal ceremony in Mexico and legally get married in Canada. Even though I'm sure the blood tests are safe, I do not want to take the chance.

You don't have to have both doses before you leave you just must make sure you have at least one, and then get the other 6 months later, so you can still get it.

Actually everyone should get a Hep A vaccination - even people who live in the USA/Canada. Like Jolene said it's passed by unwashed hands, etc. it can actually happen anywhere.

They require school children to get it now as well.

OMG I had no idea you had to get shots when you're an adult. I went to the doc Monday to get Cipro. He asked if I had been around needles or had multiple piecings....yes to both....so he did a blood test to make sure I don't have Hep C, but NEVER recommended any shots for Mexico. He knew about the trip cause I went for Cipro. Huumm.....

Ooh - I forgot about this thread! I went to the doctor last week, and he told me I didn't need the shots. Yay!! cheesy.gif Not sure when I got them (if not in high school), but he said my shots were all updated.

If you don't mind me asking, did you just have a prescription to CIPRO filled out as a precaution or is it something that someone told you you'd need for Mexico?

I just had it filled as a precaution. I called my doc and told him I was going to Mexico for a week and wanted something to take "just in case" I or my FI has stomach issues while there. Maybe a little overboard, but I've never been to Mexico for a week, especially getting married, and I just wanted to make sure I have everything covered for illnesses....(if that's a word...haha!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
