I know depending on the location she offered some brides on the knot free destination shoots as long as the trip and hotel was covered. We didnt get that deal but its worth a shot I guess just to see. What is seems like is one of the top photographers that is in the states (blog says she shoots in chicago and new england and then destinations). hope this helps anyone who is looking at lower cost options.
Thanks Negrildreamer! I thought her work was excellent and she's now my photographer!!

Don't know about photogs in Jamaica but I agree with everyone who is saying that this is not an area of my wedding that I am going to skimp on. I look at it as, I would be spending around the same price if I were to hire a photographer for an at home wedding...(maybe a little bit more, unless you find someone to do it for only the travel fee) so...this isn't a fight my FI and I even had. He was in total agreement that photos are a priority!

I agree with the above poster. This was not an area my fiance or I wanted to gamble on. we got a lot of recommendations for destination wedding photographers, along with some great deals. We ended up choosing Heather Parker per the above recommendation since we did not want to go with the a resort photography company and end up being stuck with an Associate photographer. Heather's photography speaks for itself and she has experience with Jamaica. she noted to us that she was insured for international shoots and was a member of the professional photographers association. one of the nice things we liked was that she offered a slideshow of our wedding that is going to be set to music. her blog has really nice photojournalism pictures on it which my fiance felt really was important. i think for me having a US photographer was what it ultimately boiled down to. its nice that she is published a lot too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
