I am having a small wedding of 11 (total) and planned on having a Welcome Dinner the night before the wedding at a restaurant outside of the resort. The restaurant is a favorite of ours that we go to every time we're in Cabo. One couple will not arrive until late that night and won't be there in time to attend the dinner. Our original thought was to go ahead with the dinner that night, but to just be back at the resort in time to greet the couple when they arrive, which would be around 9:30 or 10:00. We are having a dinner the night of the ceremony, but the dinner in question was just something special that we're doing for our guests. Does that sound ok to you ladies or would you have that special dinner the night after the wedding?

I would do it the night before the wedding...it sounds like a lot of fun...plus the night after the wedding you may be super tired and not want to see everyone again

I think the way that you have it planned would be very nice for you and your guests. And getting back in time to greet them is a great excuse to not stay out too late and be tired for your big day! :)

The way you've originally planned it sounds best to me. Greeting the other 2 after the dinner for drinks or something sounds good too!

I agree to, it sounds great the way you have it planned. And what a nice welcoming for the late comers :)

You seem to be very conscious and thoughtful of your guests, I think your original plan was great.

Thanks, Ladies. Guess that settles it. We'll stick to the original idea.

Good call Patti. I know your guests will enjoy the restaurant since it means something to you and your FI. I also like that it does give you that excuse to not stay out late the night before the wedding!
