EXCELLENT question!

I'll have two dresses, his outfit and the broom for our jump which is like 10lbs. I'm gonna just try to put that in with one of my dresses standing up. But I'm wondering the same thing about his wedding attire; does he get to bring a garment bag as well?

I just wanted to share my experience--I flew Delta, and was told that if I brought my dress, it would count as my carry-on, so I couldn't bring another carry-on (other than a purse). I would definitely check with your carrier first, as you don't want to risk having to check something important! As for his suit, we put his in a checked suitcase, and bought a portable steamer for $30 from Bed, Bath, and Beyond--which worked wonderfully on my dress as well. My dress was hanged in the first class closet with no problem.

Carried on my dress, a small Vera Bradley backpack and a larger backpack. FI carried on a larger carry on duffel and a small backpack.. no problems. We flew Airtran.. which is a cheapie airline (booked on United.. but cancelled as they added a layover) and Airtran isn't the nicest as they are more of a budget brand. But - I just layed my dress flat in an overhead as the flight was only 50% full.. no problems. They said there wasn't room in the closet (ya right) ... but worked out fine since the resort steamed my dress before the ceremony anyway

I was planning on just putting my two dresses and FI's garments in one garment bag. I THINK it will all fit. LOL.

I was told by Mexicana that I could carry on my wedding dress as long as it weighed less than 22 pounds (but I doubt they will weigh it), and it is on a wooden hanger.

I thought I read somewhere that they have no closets on their planes, but when I chatted with an agent today, she told me that they did. I'm prepared to put it in the overhead too anyways, just in case!

I'll also be able to bring a personal item (which will be a LARGE purse...LOL) and FI will have a rolling back and a backpack!

I hope we get everything to fit!!

Anyone have any experience with United airlines going to Mexico and taking your dress on board for them to put in the closet? I called and they said it shouldn't be a problem but one woman said it depends on how full the closet is. Have you ever heard of someone being denied? I can't check the dress as is if there is no room, the bag is not designed to fly.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
