I carried mine on with American and had no issues. The lady at the check in gave me a hard time as my dress was HUGE! but I told her I would check it if the gate people made me but not going to before that. There were 2 wedding dresses on my plane, mine went in the closet (still has to fold up a bit) and they hung hers on the wall between first class and coach. They were very nice about it.

We flew Continental to Cancun to be married in Secrets Maroma. I folded my Jessie McClintock gown into my carry on. I would not let my dress leave my sight. Everything can be bought in Mexico, etc. except the gown you searched for everywhere, so guard it with your life! HA! My wedding package included pressing of my gown. It looked perfect on the big day! So I guess it depends how big your gown is. Good luck! P.S.-Continental is very accomodating in all kinds of ways since I have been flying with them for years. Just call ahead!

  • 2 weeks later...

I carried mine on plus two carry-ons in addition. Oops, I meant ONE carry-on and a personal item wink.gif

We flew American Airlines and the steward guy totally rocked. He even offered us a bottle of champagne but I can't drink so we had to forego. Most airlines are really understanding and everyone thinks it's really cool!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
