Jamaican wedding, but which resort?

Hello everyone!

My name is Jenn. My fiance Mike and I are planning an October 2010 wedding in Jamaica but we are stuck between the Riu Palace Tropical Bay, and the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites. He likes the Riu, I like the Iberostar. I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on the two - and maybe some suggestions as to which one would provide a better wedding experience. They say planning a destination wedding is supposed to be less stressful, but so far picking a resort has been one of the toughest decisions of my life! To please oneself, and to please your guests...... so tough!

Welcome and Congrats! We got married at RPTB in April, stayed for 2 weeks and loved every minute of it. There's TONS of info in the Jamaica forum that might make your decision easier. Choosing the resort was definately the hardest part. You can check out my RPTB review, the link is in my siggy. I've linked most of our photos from our wedding/honeymoon at the bottom of the review. Our wedding was very no frills and we didn't do anything extra (that's the way we wanted it!), but feel free to PM if you have any questions! Iberostar looks amazing as well, so I'm pretty sure your wedding will be amazing no matter where you decide!

I was debating on getting married at the Iberostar but they do not offer a free wedding package whereas the Riu does..girls on this forum have been married at both so just do a search and you will find info for them. In the end, I picked Breezes Runaway Bay lol. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
