I need your opinion on dresses!

Recommended Posts

OK girls, here are the two dresses that I tried on today and loved. Let me know which you like better! I'm planning to go back this weekend with my future MIL, and also go to a couple more stores, but I'm interested in your opinions on these two!

I think #1 is really gorgeous and something a bit different. I've voted #1 but I do think you need to decide if it's going to be too hot though - it does look like heavy material. But since your wedding is early May it may not be too hot at all. I guess the real question is formality -- the first dress is a lot more formal. How formal is the rest of your wedding?

I like the first one too. For some reason I think the color goes better with the Cabo/Mexican theme. When I think of Cabo I think of Orange/Red/Ivories. The gorgeous rouching (am I saying that right?) on the skirt goes with the whole Mexican girl skirt theories also. Ya know the tea length skirts that they wear with the flaring.

But... both dresses are absolutely beautiful. What color scheme is your wedding? That might help you make a decision. The white dress would definitely look better with blues, greens, etc. While the champagne dress I see more with rusty colors. Just my opinion though and believe me I'm no expert.

I'm SO in love with the first dress, I went to David's Bridal for the first time this past weekend to get my shoes and purse, and fell in love with SO many dresses. I seen that dress and it's stunning. Not sure how heavy it is, which might make a differance, but I love it. I SO wanted a dress like that for our wedding but the ones I tried on that are similar just felt a bit too much. I love the color, everything.. I think you should go back to Davids Bridal and have your future MIL take pictures of you in the two dresses. I noticed that what I liked in person looked different in the pictures so I wasn't as happy with it. So I wanted to find something that looked great in both. Just a suggestion.. :-) Oh and be sure to post those pictures.. lol

Actually, I did not like either of those dresses in the pictures, but they looked great on me in person. I was worried that #1 was too heavy, but once I got it on, it actually moves really well. Dress #2 is so light and flowy, it just gives a totally different look. I guess the formality will make a large difference, as !1 is waaaay more formal than #2. (I don't know that I mind formal, though). Those were my two favorites from David's. We went to a boutiquey dress shop too and I found NOTHING! I think the woman helping me got it in her head that I was doing a destination wedding and kept presenting me with these very simple sheath dresses. I told her I was there because I already had a simple dress and was looking for something with a little more pizzaz. She pretty much just told me I couldn't wear a full skirt because of my height, shouldn't wear strapless because of my (not so small) arms and shouldn't wear something with detail on the bottom because is made me look short. That, in her opinion, left a simple sheath- not for me! Anyway, I have two more "fancier" dress shops to try to hit later this week. I'll keep ya posted, so far these are the two faves, and I'm pretty much tied between them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
